I have been on Minocin for 10 years at 100 mg 3 /week. Due to blue discoloring

in nailbeds I changed to doxycycline 100 mg 3x/wk. last Oct. I'm still doing

well and would like to change to a maintenance dose. But, I don't know what

dose that would be. Once a week?

I'd like to hear from any of you that have been on a maintenance dose, or know

what it would be.

I have dermatomyositis and mixed connective tissue disease with CREST(sd) and

have been on what I consider a maintenance dose (for me) of 100mg of minocin on

Mondays and Thursdays. There have been times when I forget to take it and have

gone 2 full weeks without any minocin with no ill effects. It may be possible

that I could go off completely but will not go that route as there is no

guarantee that either of these diseases will not return.

I have had minor pigmentation problems such as a bruise not going away

completely; a blue tinge in my face depending on the light but that is so easy

to put up with after all that I went through to get to this point in my life. I

continue to take large amounts of vitamin C and bioflavinoids and that seems to

keep the " blue " from getting any worse.

Hi ,

I know of a man who has been on Minocin for ten (or more) years now. I believe

that he now takes 50 mg of Minocin three times per week.
