Guest guest
Hi Amy, I’m glad about your discovery; I think dental procedures may have had a lot to do with my chemical sensitivities – or at least increased it. About the Minocin, I’d recommend starting slow and building up to avoid a bad Herx. I was able to take 100 mg daily for several years without problems – but good results. However, we are all different so you may have to play with it. Maybe you could start slow given your previous Herx; i.e., 50 mg M/W/F, if that goes well maybe 50 mg M/W/F but twice a day; then maybe 100 mg M/W/F --- I don’t think there’s a wrong way! It sounds like things are going well for you; congrats on finding a GP that’s on board! For some reason your email buoyed my spirits today! It was good to hear some good news. In December I was having joint and muscle pain. My Rheumatoid Factor was 409 (<20 is what docs want to see). In July I had an anti CCP test which was also " sky high. " Just 2 weeks ago I had a dental check up. the Panoramic x-ray showed an abscess in my jaw bone. After a week on antibiotics...ALL my joint pain is gone! I am so excited. I have an appointment with the endodontist in two days. May need a root canal...But the relief I have had is fantastic. I still find I need to avoid food triggers (wheat and dairy). And I started minocycline again today. I had taken one about two weeks ago and experienced the herx reaction and needed to wait for a stretch of time where I could be " down " for a spell. My GP (general practitioner) was very willing to prescribe minocycline without testing me for mycoplasma. She said it is safe. I feel very fortunate to avoid the expense and the wait of getting lab tests before starting AP. Is pulsing (taking 50mg every other day) best or should I just jump in and take it daily? I also have found a product by Metagenics, Ultra Clear, to help. It is a low-allergenic, cleansing protein powder that helps my body to deal with all the other allergens from the mycoplasma and food. I'll update after I deal with the abscess in my jawbone.
Guest guest
Great discovery! I had all my metal fillings replaced and I believe that along with the Minocin I have been taking for 5 years is what propelled me into complete remission from scleroderma.  Congratulations, you found part of the cause. Baby steps with Minocin is a very wise thing. Increasing slowly is best when you are hypersensitive. It is the same as the old story about the Tortoise & the Hare. The Tortoise, although slow, won the race. Good luck and keep going. That is great news. Dolores.  From: ehgooding <ehgooding@...> Subject: RE: rheumatic Tooth infection causing my joint pain rheumatic Date: Monday, September 20, 2010, 8:50 AM  Hi Amy, I’m glad about your discovery; I think dental procedures may have had a lot to do with my chemical sensitivities – or at least increased it.
