Guest guest
Hi, Soheila. I had numbness and tingling (from lack of circulation) for months. I have RA - worst in the shoulders and hips. Was afraid I was getting neuropathy - as RA can cause - which destroys the sheath surrounding the nerves. I have been using an over-the-counter supplement of B12 (based on nonwater soluble methylcobalamin - which is the important difference in B12 and why this is as effective as those who get daily B12 shots). It has worked wonders - I no longer have pain, numbness in hands and arms, waking me up every night. I started with 2 capsules am and 2 pm, found this not enough and went to 4 am and 4 pm. Within 7-10 days numbing was gone. I now take 2 capsules in the am and 3 before bed. I have compared this with similar supplements in the health food store and none have the same combination of B12 and B2 and B6 with Folic Acid and the B12 as methylcobalamin and this costs a little less @$35 for 120 capsules. I also have done research that says you cannot overdose the B12. Hello I have SD suffering from poor circulation speially in my hands fingers. I have attack of Raynauds at cold weather. I have redness (inflammation) around some of my fingers nails. It seems there is infection too.I have never had any infection on my hands or under nails. I guess it is related to poor circulation. Does any body knows of a herb or anything to improve my circulation and treat the inflammation on my finger tips? I am taking Diltiazem too which supposed to increase the circulation. I do appreciate your comments. thank you soheila
Guest guest
Hi all, I had Raynaud's (miserable stuff) but it went away after three months on Minocin (100 mg once a day). I stopped taking Minocin in late January of this year (I was on it for 33 months) and about a month ago it felt like I was going to have a Raynaud's episode. So I know Minocin helped me but I may have to get back on the antibiotic, at least for a maintenance dose (3 times a week vice daily). Guest guest
Old timers on this list have heard this story before, but back in 1993 my daughter (a cardiac nurse) learned a friend of hers, , had scleroderma - a fact she had hidden from family and friends until she had to be put on oxygen to get her housework done. I approached her with info on the AP and she had me write a letter to her rheumatologist who refused to prescribe the necessary IVs. It wasn't long until she needed oxygen 24/7 at which point the rheumy agreed to the IVs - but it was too late - the damage was already done. At this point, her husband was transferred to Texas - forcing her to leave her medical and family support system. We moved two months later to be near our children and ended up living two miles from this women in houses built by the same builder. By that time this woman's feet were a deep blue at the ankles and darkening to black feet, and in the middle of summer she was dressed as if she were living in an igloo in Alaska. was listening to 60 minutes one night and learned about chelation - asking me to find a doctor willing to treat her. I found a doctor and within just a few treatments, 's ankles and feet were normal color and she was dressing in summer clothes. At that time, 's lungs were almost completely shut down. There is more to this story but time is getting away from me today. Chelation is a wonderful therapy for those that need it. You can find a physician offering it at www.acam.org. Guest guest
Hi Sohelia, This is Dolores. I take Dilitiazam also. Been on it for about a year. For a while, the tips of my fingers were also very sensitive. They were so sensitive that I could not stand to touch anything and no one could touch my hands either. A friend of mine went to pat my hand and I let out such a scream that it scared the both of us and the others that were in the room as well. It took a while, but that went away after being on the Minocin for a long time. Then, when I went on M/P, that same sensitivity came back. It lasted about six weeks but eventually went away. I hope your syptoms will disappear in time also. For a while, I was afraid of getting an infection. I kept my hands very clean and avoided touching anything hot or cold. I couldn't even open an envelop. Then one day without any warning the hands and fingers felt just fine. That whole episode tooke 6-8 weeks to develop and resolve. This sensitivity developed right after I took a fall and felt like I had broken a finger. I didn't go to the doctor, I just eased up on using my hands and in due time, it just went away. I know you work with your hands. I work with mine too, in the office opening mail, so I went out and bought a letter opener and it made all the difference. Now I use tools instead of my fingers to open everything and my fingertips are just fine. I still use the tools. It seems I fingers needed a rest from daily chores as did the rest of me. Hope you are coming along. What did Dr. Whitman have to say about the sore fingers? Take care ~~~~Love, Dolores soheila A <soadl80@...> wrote: Hello I have SD suffering from poor circulation speially in my hands fingers. I have attack of Raynauds at cold weather.
