Guest guest
I have been on Drenamin, Thytrophin and Promamine Iodine (Standard Process) for about 8 months now. I hope you are familiar with the these. The nodules on my thyroid are almost completely gone, but thyroid function is declining; TSH is up to 4.5. I accidentally ran out of the Drenamin while on vacation. I crashed majorly and required much more sleep than what I had been needing. Would this associated to the adrenals? And if so, after having been on this supplement for so long why would the adrenals still be so fatiqued? THanks Kathy
Guest guest
Yes it would be adrenals and it sounds that though it is supporting then whie you are taking it, there is no healing going on yet. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
You should stay off it for 2 weeks and have cprtisol saliva labs run so you know how bad or good they are working. You can order your own test from www.canaryclub.org Endos often knwo NOTHING about adrenal fatigue in fact many do nto admit it exists. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Kathy, I was taking both Drenamin and Drenatrophin PMG for about 6 months. It dawned on me one day, why am I taking 2 adrenal support items from the same animal. I thought, wouldn't one be enough? I also felt like I wasn't getting much improvement, so I did muscle testing on each. My body reacted more towards the Drenatrophin PMG. The PMG is made mostly of bovine adrenal PMG extract. Go on the Standard Process site and look at the ingredients. The Drenamin doesn't have as much of the adrenal gland. So now I take the PMG with IsoCort and it seems to be an improvement. I also take Vitamin C and B complex. My endo wasn't interested in adrenal fatigue either. I got my support from a nurse practioner. I'm still not where I need to be, but I am seeing improvement. This will take a long time to heal. Robin
Guest guest
Thanks Robin, How did you go about finding a nurse practitioner that was willing to help? This is all still so relatively new to me. I have been dealing more with the benign goiters I have had, and now a rising TSH level. With the this recent incedence of running out of the Drenamin, I guess I need to start focussing more on my adrenals and get them up to par. How exactly do the adrenals affect the thyroid function or is it the other way around? Thanks. Kathy > > Kathy, > I was taking both Drenamin and Drenatrophin PMG for about 6 > months. Guest guest
Val, How can I possibly stay off it for two weeks when I felt so bad without it to begin with? Guest guest
It can be done but usually if you need the cortiosl badly it may make you bedridden to do so. Never the less, it is the only way to get accurate adnrela labs. It is a decision only you can make as to how ot proceed, continue taking adrneal meds 3ihtout knowing if they can heal or even if it is pituitarty issues, or to try to come off just fo4 the 2 weeks needed to test. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val, Do you think I should stop the Thytrophin during this time as well. I read somewhere that thyroid hormones could exacerbate an adrenal insufficiency. Don't know if the supplementation of Thytrophen would necessarily do the same thing. Thanks. Guest guest
Kathy, Actually, I got lucky. A friend of mine is really into the homeopathic way to mend the body and she recommended me to this dr (I call her a dr.). This dr also has thyroid issues so she understands where I'm coming from. She doesn't advertise and all her business is by word of mouth. She's a god send!! My friend also is the one who taught me muscle testing. And now she wants me to go to see a local chiropracor who has a bio-meridian machine. It sound great, but I can't afford it. It took a while for it to sink into my skull that I needed to treat my adrenals before I got my thyroid under control. I messed around for a year with an endo and got no where, before I went to this new dr. I still take my Armour, but haven't increased it. I'm still trying to get my temps under control. This group is wonderful! They can answer just about any question you may have about adrenal and thyroid. Don't be afraid to ask. > > > Thanks Robin, How did you go about finding a nurse practitioner that was > willing to help? This is all still so relatively new to me.
