Guest guest
Oh no , not Dr. Starr!!! LOL. Search his name--I remember having a discussion with about Dr. Starr. I can't say he's a great dr. Your first session he asks a million questions, and tape records his summary of your answer-redundant to sit through-I felt like I was part of a survey/experiment I didnt sign up for (how much did you weigh when you were born, were you a preme, when did you have chicken pox yada yada). It was like I wasn't there--weird to have someone make verbal obsverations to themselves " patient's hands cool to the touch...patient reports____ " At the time, I already had a so/so TSH blinded Dr. I was seeing in FL and I knew something wasn't right. I was at 3-4 grains of nature-throid and I was not feeling great. I had read Dr. Starr's book, and I wanted a second opp. He completely missed my conversion issues (brought blood work with me) his response to my concern about not feeling great on NT was " you have been HypoT for a long time, give the meds more time " And he didn't even suggest adrenal fatigue--I brought it up. His response? Licorish won't hurt you. Keep taking the adrenal complex you're on. I would not call him an adrenal expert--far from it. I looked sickly, pale with dark rings under my eyes. Didn't raise any flags. And he suggested some frequency patches to wear. Susposedly different frequencies rid different aliments--now how these frequencies are transfered to these expensive shiny patches is a mystery. I was a desperate fool to buy them. Meanwhile, I had to wait a bit in the waiting room and saw 4 patients come in to pick up their prescriptions. All the women were in their 40's-50's menopausal years and they were puffy, chunky and didn't look lively/healthy. I was disappointed with my appointment because he did not have any new insight to offer to my situation--and he was expensive too! I am also bitter about the drs I've seen this year because they were all " thyroid experts " who failed to recognize my adrenal fatigue before it progressed to the next stage. As for the muscle testing, I think it electronically measures your reflexes. Now do you need a machine to tell you your reflexs are slow and you're still hypo? I think not. Guest guest
Thanks Tasia, I did read your discussion with . And I hear you loud and clear on everything. I think I will do a little emailing with his office before I make an appointment. Obviously we are all different and what works for one wont work for another. The muscle testing I am referring to doesn't have anything to do with machines. It is kinesiology and is something I have used before. Basically it tests your bodys strength in response to different things. Like with HC I am hoping that he can test me for my ideal dosing and help me keep it tweaked as I go along. If I had listened to my kinesiologist more than 10 years ago (wish I could find him now) I wouldn't be in this situation now because he used to talk to me about my adrenals all of the time and gave me adrenal glandulars that I never really took. If only I had done the research then!!! English > > Oh no , not Dr. Starr!!! > > LOL. Search his name--I remember having a discussion with about > Dr. Starr. > > I can't say he's a great dr.
