Guest guest
>>If a blood test showed very high t3...we assume it's not getting into the cells, right? Then, what would the saliva test show....low t3? << If a blood test shows high for T3 it depnds on what meds oyu are taking and what the T4 looks liek to determine what it will mean. If you are on T3 only what are your temps, if they are low and Free T3 is high it is not gettign ot the cells and I would expect a saliva lab to look low or at least low in range. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Ok Val....I'm the one with very very hight ft3, virtually NO t4, and temps that were averaging 98.5-98.7. I was feeling ok...altho some heart palps and heavy perspiration. At the time of the high ft3 I was on 112.5 mcg Cytomel and 30 mg HC. I got the hives situation...freaked....and everything went downhill from there. I lowered Cytomel to 75 mcg and now temps are low. That's why I was thinking of getting the saliva tests done again, but just to see where the ft3 REALLY is. What I can't comprehend is it not getting into the cells with those good temps that I had before? Naffy > > >>If a blood test showed very high t3...we assume it's not getting into > the cells, right? Guest guest
It may have only been partial. SOME may have gotten to the cells soem built in the blood, or maybe you were hyper. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Then saliva testing is sounding a lot more interesting to me. This will show the complete picture right? No guessing on what is in the cells and what is in the blood....saliva testing will show EXACTLY what is going on? Naffy > > It may have only been partial. Low in saliva and high in blood means low cortisol, where low in saliva would just tell a person they needed more thyroid, not why. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Together....meaning the same day? Would it be okay to do blood one week and saliva the next? I'm out of USA, and will do the saliva when I get there. By the way....would you happen to know if canary club just does thyroid, or do you have to do the whole schlemeel?? Thanks Val! Guest guest
I think through CC you have to get the whole packet. I found pother places but they wanted more money to do just thyroid! Yes one one week and one the next with no change in meds is fine. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
whats weird in my case is my free t4 was low in blood,,,but at very upper end in saliva. these tests were done within 2 weeks of each other and I havent been on any thyroid meds ever. isnt this strange considering my cortsiol is low not high? makes me wonder if one of these tests arent accurate with respect to thyroid. most docs seem to go with blood levels > > >>Then saliva testing is sounding a lot more interesting to me. Guest guest
Cortisol does not seem to affect T4 getting to the tissues ONLY T3 so I suspect ot also affects converison. It is not uncommon for T4 or T3 to be VERY different in blood and slaiva levels as you are lokign at two differnt things. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
