Guest guest
Actually, those prices seem pretty reasonable to me. I paid $180 for 15 minutes for a worthless endocrinologist 7 years ago! Cheri Atlanta Doctor I was at the vitamin store today and one of the employees told me about a doctor who treats adrenals. I went to his website and he follows broda barnes and william jefferies! Unfortunately he doesnt accept insurance and the initial visit is 250.00 and lab tests can run 400.00. The employee told me that the dr does muscle testing also. I am thinking that may be one of the only ways to test for proper HC dosing while still taking HC. It is alot of money, but I think I am going to take the plunge as I think this guy will be my last hope. Here is his website if anyone is interested: http://starrpainclinic.com/begin.html English . Guest guest
> I have about 14 things I plan to > add to my tests. What tests are you going to add? I am going to my GP tomorrow (if I don't cancel) and was going to ask him to test me for Ferritin. I would like to get him to test for as much as possible so that insurance will cover it. Any ideas? I can't wait till I can make an appointment tomorrow! English
Guest guest
, I have been making a list of things I want to add to my blood tests in Mar. These are the ones I have listed so far: Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) free T3 free T4 free testosterone reverse T3 ferritin calcitonin estradiol progesterone pregnenolone 25 (OH)D (vitamin D) glycated hemoglobin % HBAIC DHEAS aldosterone My Macon Dr doesn't check " free " anything, only TSH but she is very nice (just very mainstream medicine) I haven't decided whether to tell her that I'm on 1 gr of Armour already (she told me that my numbers didn't justify it when I requested a trial of Armour). Guest guest
Sorry, I forgot to comment on that as well..the prices are typical. We are all just used to our insurance paying it so we don't realize that it costs that much to see a doctor. My child went to a developmental pediatrician and one visit cost $650!! No testing..all they did was have me answer a ton of question and look at him! > > Actually, those prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Guest guest
I believe that this is Dr. Mark Starr whose book I read recently. I also asked about him here and someone said that they had seen him and that he is very in to selling supplements and hormone patches these days. I also remember someone here saying some time ago that he was not as good at following his own advice about how to treat adrenals. Just reporting what I have heard. I'm seeing Dr. Milton in Cummings, GA on Thursday and hoping for good things. The patient testimonials on Top Docs look good. > > > I have about 14 things I plan to > > add to my tests. > > > What tests are you going to add? Guest guest
Thanks , I went back and read your discussion with Tasia. I think I may go see him anyway. At least he can muscle test me for the HC dose I am on. And, I kind of like the idea of hormone patches rather than pills. I get sick of taking pills. But, I will definitely be going in with my eyes open. I'll let yall know what I think. English > > I believe that this is Dr. Mark Starr whose book I read recently.
