Guest guest
Hi Kathy: It is my plan to keep the group informed of this Doc's approach to naturally healing R/A. He won't give me a recovery time frame because everyone is different (e.g. age, gender, nutrient absorbtion ability)...all he will say is 'it will take time. "  Well, since A/P takes on average of 8 months before really positive results are realized, I figured I may as well try the natural healing approach first (least toxic) and if necessary, get a referral to one of his open minded MD friends who I hope will write the RX for Minocin and LDN. As far as getting Minocin from Canada, the only way is on line (you complete their order form, pay by credit card usually and then have to mail them the original prescription. Try www.buylowdrugs.com (about $168/100 capsules). I did find another Canadian website that had Minocin for abount $148/100 capsules but I don't have that info in front of my write now. I will send a follow-up email with this info. Your positive progress I am sure has given every one in this group a very, very bright ray of hope -- especially those for which A/P had or has stopped working to some degree. > > You are so lucky to be able to see Dr. Franco. I'm a little bit jealous because here in Cleveland, doctors' doors are slamming in my face left and right when I mention Dr. Brown's A/P. They all seem to be afraid of or perhaps are not permitted to practice anything other than " standard medical procedures " for R/A. Imagine, I live in the shadow of the Cleveland Clinic and cannot find any doc to help me! > > I've reached the point where I'm going to see a doc (chiropractor by education) who is so anti-Big Pharma it would make your head spin (of course chiropractors cannot write prescriptions). Fortunately, he also has an extensive educational background in nutrition and 'claims' he successfully treats R/A all the time using supplements/diet modification to straighten out one's immune system to knock off any infections; and this to some degree makes sense to me. He also determines if there are any hidden allergies that may be compromising the immune system using the ELISA blood test (Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbant Assay) which from I've been able to determine is quite sensitive. The good thing about this guy is if it is determined he cannot help me or if I insist, he does have other 'conventional' docs to whom he refers patients -- supposedly these docs are not hard-core conventional but rather always try to take the least harmful approach and are open to new > ideas. This, at least, will give me a friendly back door entrance to pursuing A/P. Heaven know the Cleveland Clinic docs and those of the other major research hospitals in this are really do not want to talk to me. I will update the group after my Feb 28th appointment with this doc. If this nutritional method bombs out or does not make sense, I will pursue A/P combined with LDN. Guest guest
Diane, I look forward to hearing how your appointment goes.. I am also in Ohio (Youngstown).. I go to Dr. who is located in Cleveland (Parma, actually) and she prescribes and believes in AP. She is a DO and not an MD but she can write the script for Minocin. If you need to find a doctor she will be able to help you and she is near you. Get well.. Guest guest
Hi Tom: I am aware of , D.O. who was referred by either Road Back.org or Rheumatic.org.  I called because it was my understanding she controls her own R/A on Dr. Brown's A/P. However, I tried several times to schedule an appointment to see her -- left voice mail messages asking that she call me back -- but I never got a return call. Her office hours are limited -- I believe two days/week -- and perhaps this is because her specialy is Rehab medicine...probably spends most of her time at the hospital. If push comes to shove, I will try to schedule an appointment with her again. Another MD referred was a , M.D. in Euclid, Ohio. However, then I called to schedule an appointment with him, I was told he no longer practices A/P " because it does not work.
