Guest guest
I know of *no* vegans who don't cheat (although I'm sure there are some), including when I went temporarily insane in college and was a vegan myself for a VERY SHORT TIME. Non- vegans aren't really vegetarians, just people who abstain from *certain* kinds of animal foods while partaking in other kinds of animal foods depending on their particular sensibilities. One day we will be able to put that semantic nonsense aside. BTW, I just finished reading about a notable *former* vegetarian, Harvey Diamond of " Fit For Life " fame. Imagine that! I also received another one today from EX-vegans who are about to go public with their recent change to meat-eating and subsequent improved health. Apparently, though I've never heard of them, they are big deals in the vegan movement. I wish I could post the letter to our group, but the author asked to remain anonymous until they go public with their switch. I wrote a stinging response to the author of the below letter (hey--I give as good as I get). Its been my experience that people who claim to have been vegan for X number of years and are healthy, that they ALWAYS cheat from time to time. I even know one couple who own a health food store here in Honolulu who say they are vegetarians, but then confess to eating fish once a week! Anyway, enjoy. Guest guest
Bianca, please tell us more about Harvey Diamond, or where to find the info you saw. How interesting! Thanks. Guest guest
Hi Meighen, It is in his latest book (can't recall the name) authored just by him (he is no longer married to Marilyn Diamond). He says that he eats animal flesh about 3x a week. I appreciate *popular* authors who have the courage to admit publically that they have changed their view. Guest guest
Thanks, Bianca. It does show integrity on his part, I think. Guest guest
You all might want to read an excellent article called " Natural Health Gurus Eat Animals Too " by Chet Day and posted at http://www.chetday.com. It has the info on Diamond, as well as several other reputed vegetarians like Norman and Bragg. Trust me: vegetarians they were not. Guest guest
haha, that was funny! I've never looked at the books of WAP foundation, but considering that they are far more likely to bring an end to factory farming than PETA, I think they're the last people the dairy industry would fund!
