Hey Sharon.

Mix it with equal parts flour and water (ex. 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup water)

Let it sit until it starts to get bubbly, normally about 12 hours. Dump half and

add back in flour and water what you dumped. If you want it to be really active

for cooking, feed it up to 3 times a day until it is a big enough amount that

you want to use to cook with. If you aren't going to cook with it yet after

activating it, feed it and then put it in the fridge until you are ready to work

with it. When you want to use it, let it warm up to room temp, and give it a few

good feedings first.

I just received some Oregon Trail sourdough, but I

don't know how to reconstitute it into starter. It is

dried grains. I can't contact the person that sent it.

They did not send you instructions! They post the

instructions on the website.

Basically to reconstitute sourdough that has been

dried just put itin some flour and water, probably

about one cup each, and keep adding more for a few

days two times a day (You may have to dump some out)

until it starts getting foamy and really looks like it

is working, then it is ready to use.
