They don't get pink at all. The feed salesman has what amounts to

paint chips, which display a wide variety of pink and peachy colors.

The salmon farmers can pick which color they want their fish to turn

out, just like ordering paint at the hardward store.

A fish person at Albertson's told be that farm raised salmon is given a carotene

supplement (I guess it's beta-carotene) for pink color. It's probably better

than some artificial dye.
