Guest guest
How much HC are you on? And what did your cortisol lok like pre-HC? That would determine if the T3 would help or make things worse. You MUST find a form of iron you can take or have uinjections doen by your doctor. THAT has t be corrected for ANY of this to work. Low dose will not bring it up and thyroid of any kind will not improve until you get the iron stores up. Not to mention that is a BIG part of your fatigue. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I know you're right about the ferritin. I am going to try and slowly raise what I'm on now (Spatone and Proferrin). Also, I have an appt with a local holistic doc. I don't think she's going to be very receptive to the HC/Armour, but I need a local doc for emergencies. I'm going to bring the iron issue up with her and see if I can fanangle an IV. I just know I will have horrible side-effects, but maybe they will be worth it. I am on 32.5 mg Cortef right now. My average temps are steady at 97.2. I've been on 32.5 for about six weeks. I was the one who had been on 15 mg of HC from May to October, and the horrible doctor and lab told me to do the test without weaning off. So, it was a worthless test. I have a very loonng history of adrenal problems, though. I have all the physical symptoms - very low BP, etc. I can repost the history if you'd like. My doc actually tried to get me to take more over HC the summer, but I was too scared. Now I've moved, and that doc can't help me. When you saw my history and erratic temps in October/November, you agreed with my husband that I should go ahead and ramp up. You were both right! So...the T3 might be okay if I've had stable temps for a while? > > How much HC are you on? And what did your cortisol lok like pre-HC? Guest guest
I sincerely doubt your body wil utilize T3 any better than Armoru wiht Ferritin that low. You can try it, but do try a TINY amoutn ot see if you are going to react badly to it. It is not just T4 that the body can;tutilize with low Ferritin, it is T3 as well. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So, would I look for the same symptoms of not tolerating T3? Temp not increasing, increase in pain, etc? > > I sincerely doubt your body wil utilize T3 any better than Armoru wiht > Ferritin that low. Guest guest
, Do you think you can get your doctor to schedule iron infusions for you? My all-time low ferritin level was 7. My Ob/Gyn had me do a series of iron infusions because she knew I'd have a hard time bringing my levels up with iron supps due to my extremely heavy periods. My ferritin went from 7 to 120 (it then settled down to around 70). Kirsten > > > Basically, I've been working on the iron since last fall. June labs > showed a level of 6.94. Guest guest
Hi, Kirsten, I don't have a local doc right now. We moved last fall, and it is hard to find a doc who will work with me. I have an appt in Feb with a family doctor who is naturally oriented, but I don't think she is on board with the thyroid/adrenal stuff. I am going to see what she has to say about the infusions. I am very sensitive to all medicines and supplements. Did you have any side effects from the infusions? Thanks, > > > > > > > Basically, I've been working on the iron since last fall.
