Re: adrenal support(candida)

Thanks for the enouragement. His doc said do one teaspoon twice a day,

half hour before meals. I started with half teaspoon once a day and am

up to 1 teaspoon once a day. I am just a cautious person and if I was

going to have a reaction... Also olive leaf extract between meals.

I've lost aobut 7 pounds now!! And hubby has lost 15, he's very

happy. And he also started 1 g armour at the same time so WHAM!

using the baking soda before meals twice a day? I hope I'm remembering

correctly.

But............doesn't taking the baking soda before meals pretty much

eliminate stomach acid, thus interfering with digestion and absorption

of all nutrients?

Well, I do know it really helps when I have bad heartburn and indigestion.

Seems to be the only thing that works.

I've hear that a good thing for candida (perhaps not a systemic

kind), and in general in eating lacto-fermented foods - yogurt,

kefir, I don't know what else. Fallon mentions in her book

Nourishing Traditions that most " primative " cultures (which

nontheless seem to have better health than " civilized " people " )

incorporate lacto-fermented foods into the diet somehow.

Baking soda also creates an alkaline environment rather than acidic. Those of

us who are acidic know acidosis is a hotbed for fungus, bacteria and a host of

other bad things.

Re: adrenal support(candida)

You know, this is a good point. i don't understand it as much as I

should. I'm just taking it early morning and I take enzymes and

stomach acids before meals so instictively I'm trying to keep it away

from meals (like if I know there is still food in my stomach, I

wouldn't do it) but as I said, it is very off the cuff as I haven't

done my research. I suspect it leaves the stomach pretty quickly.

There is a great yahoo list Kefir_Making and if you Google Dom's Kefir, you can

find out everything you ever wnated to know about making kefir. He also owns the

yahoo list. It's easier than yogurt to make. :)

Sure, but that is very different than taking before meals daily, long

term. But you might consider how often you are taking it? Sometimes

enzymes help me with indigestion (with food still in stomach).
