Guest guest
Hi Janet, Glad you posted. This is a great group to find out info. Do you have the test results. That would be most helpful for any of us to recomend further treatment. I do get swollen feet, legs and ankles. This has greatly improved since I started Armour. Actually, my whole body was swollen and this is typical symptoms for hypoT. The other symptoms you talk about are also typical. If you can post your test results we can be more helpful. Guest guest
You are in fact Paying for YOUR labs. Ask the lab to send a copy not only to your physician but also to you at your home. Lab-Corp here in Delaware does this all the time for me......BUT.... I have to ask them to do it EVERY time I go. Guest guest
What do you mean by 75 mcg of time released T3T4? Is this a synthetic? You need to change docs and changed quick! Get on Armour and if the doc wont give it to you, you can get it yourself online. Your kids deserve all of you. I know how hard having kids (I have 5) and being hypo and sick can be. 75 mcg of anything is too little despite your labs. Increase now!!!!! -- Re: edema Hi I've also been a member for a while but didn't post either.. Guest guest
As far as I know we have a right to get all reports, films, lab results and doctor and hospital records, including itemitzed bills, even if our insurance pays for the work. Guest guest
Joy, There is nothing in nature that makes T4 and T3 in those proportions, let alone T3 alone. Perhaps you mean the vegetarian capsules are natural. According to the pharmacy, what they are providing is a timed release version. They can also legitimately state that these are bio-identical hormones, although they almost certainly start with synthetic ingredients. With a timed release version, you should not be crashing at 6:00 unless you are under dosed, which seems likely. OTOH, there are other things that can cause edema, such as allergies, and a daily cycle of energy and collapse, diabetes, for example. Guest guest
Thank you for the information, Joy. I have found that other than the diltiazem I am on, when I am not getting enough thyroid medication is when I unwind like a clock spring. Guest guest
Yes this is very true as I have seen in many people as well. I suspect >70% of the population is dehydrated despite drinking plenty of fluids. When asked how much coffe average client drinks over 40% of the consumption of liquid comes from soft drinks and and coffee. Crystaline fructose is a huge factor in causing potentially alot of health issues. Sugar is modern man's poison. I am very firm beleiver detoxifcation over a prolong peroid of time which has seen great clinical response to getting the junk out and cleaning the matrix.. > > > > > From: phildude43 <phildude43@> > > > Subject: edema > > > > > > Date: Thursday, November 26, 2009, 8:35 AM > > > Gained about 5 lbs since first 200mg > > > injection.Fingers are much larger and I haven't varied my > > > way of eating so I feel certain this is all fluid > > > retention. Will the edema improve with more frequent, smaller > > > dose injections? > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > >
Guest guest
Caffeine is not nearly the diuretic it is supposed to be. The problem with sodas are-even if one does not have issues with artificial sweeteners-they are basically a glass of chemicals. Be well! Guest guest
Chemicals in soda all kinds leech essential nutrients from the body causing alot of other issues. Osteroporsis is one of them from phosporic acid. Guest guest
Yes, I have been battling dependent edema for 15 plus years. The edema has caused me many ulcers and much pain for years, not to mention $$$. Here are my suggestions: use something to elevate your feet eight inches above your heart...I have a flat foam pillow and a hospital bed which goes up. Wear elastic hose that are put on before you get out of bed to prevent swelling...every hour get up and walk around to make the valves in your leg veins bring blood up toward your heart instead of pooling. watch the salt. HTH " ...if by liberal they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people...their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, their civil liberties...if that is what they mean by a " liberal " then I am proud to be a liberal. Guest guest
Just thought I would chime in to say that I too had bouts of edema following surgery. I really noticed it the most in the summer period following surgery...so for me it was most noticeable between 4 and 8 months post op. I do still occasionally get swelling (and for me it is also more pronounced in the left leg). I think this kind of peripheral edema can be any number of things, and likely a combination of things for me...my guess is the warm weather combined with some kind of crazy hormonal/surgically induced peri-menopause! When I travel long distances by car, and especially when I fly overseas, I always wear support knee highs. I also use them at home, and sometimes overnight in bed when I have had too much salt in my diet and I have developed " kankles " after a a sushi dinner! Of course particularly following surgery and sedentary periods you must always be concerned that this kind of swelling is related to clots and you should check it out with your doctor.
