Guest guest
Hey Ya'll, I hope a few of you will remember me from years ago. I have RA , fibro, and stroke and live in ville,Florida. Bill and I traveled to the RA Conference in California with Dr. Franco years ago to meet some of you- especially Ethel! I need your opinions for my grandbaby- Addie just had surgery yesterday to create a nasal passage. The surgeon made a u-shaped incision in the roof of her mouth, drilled a nasal passage, removed an adenoid, etc. She has been living with one opening -which in itself was not as wide as normal. She was born 2 1/2 yrs ago with unilateral " choanal atresia " . It is not a common birth defect- 1 out of every 6,000 births result in this situation. She will be on cipro or amoxicillian for 7 weeks until the next surgery on August 25 to remove the stint and cut away more bony structure in the skull. It has been a rough couple of years as Addie has never been able to be around children, grocery store, Mcs- zero. She is so much pain-it is awful. She is on loratab liquid every 4 hrs and decadrom- 4 mg. through IV. The doctor is planning to release her today which we are not in agreement with but due to insurance I am sure he will discharge her. I do not believe Addie will be able to open her mouth to try pudding. One of my concerns is to prevent yeast. Is there an favorite brand acid. powder that I can buy at a local health food store? I always ordered my powder from Dr. Franco years ago. She will be on soft diet for weeks and then start the entire process over again in August. Thnak you for your support.
