Got my glucose monitor

I didn't have time to play with it last night but I intend to use it

beginning this weekend. So I am to take my BS first thing in the AM

before eating and before taking HC and watch for readings of 100 and

up? How many times during the day should I use it to try to determine

whether I am on enough or too much HC?

Thanks,

So if it's high (again, high being something over 100?), don't eat

anything for an hour or two and check it again, or can I eat to take

meds, wait for a few hours and check it again?

Thanks,

OK so test right away after I get up and hope that it isn't high and,

if it is, wait for 1 - 2 hours and test again before eating or taking

meds. I'm looking at the instructions for the Ascencia Contour - is

the " shallow " setting enough for the finger tips or do you usually go

deeper? Mine aren't really calloused.

Thanks,

Pretty cool, barely felt it - certainly not as much as the needle for

the B-12 shots that I'm giving myself now. I tested 90 which I assume

is OK. So that tells me that I'm not taking too much HC? How often

should I check myself - few times/week? When I'm feeling a certain way?

Thanks,

90 is perfect. Yes even a coupel times a week should be fine only more

if you see them rising. OR if you see below 75 that would be hypoglycemia.
