Guest guest
You need to provide more info. Show your results with ranges beside them. You only gave an AM and PM range but gave 4 readings so I don't know how to interpret that other than clearly your morning is way too low. Also, let us know if the 12.5 mg you are taking is broken down during the day and if so, how much during which time blocks? 12.5 mg might work if you barely have any fatigue but most people need a lot more. I am up to 35 mg and didn't start really seeing improvement (other than depression being helped) until I got to the higher dose. Cheri -----Original Message----- if one's cortisol is low, isn't cortef the first line of treatment? on that note, i'm on 12.5 mg of cortef and have been for a couple weeks, (i worked up from 7.5 mg), but i have to say i see no benefit so far. it really worries me. here are the results of my 24 hour cortisol saliva test in order from am to pm... They were measured in NG/ML... .61, 1.0-8.0 .44, .65, .15 .1-1.0 for the pm How low are these? The scales say it should be for the am, and . Am I to assume that very low cortisol is worse than very high? Because perhaps that means your cortisol was high for a long time and now your body is finally having trouble producing it? . Guest guest
Okay, well your dosage is very low and Isocort is much weaker than HC. Doses above 25 mg of cortisol are only unsafe for a healthy person with normal cortisol or someone already too high...neither apply to you. Really, the best way to know proper doses is to do the temperature graphing on Dr. Rind's site as you ramp up. Three temps averaged for the days, starting three hours after you wake. Your goal is .2 temp difference and no more from one day to the next. I started out on Isocort like you, took me 3 months to ramp up to 35 mg and 10 mg of that is HC cream, the rest is Isocort. It was not until I hit 35 mg that my temps started to get better. I was all over the map even two weeks ago. Cheri Re: has everyone on this site tried cortef, if not, why not? ...and my test results Hey Cheri, the lab results only had those ranges listed. but either way, my readings were very low at every point except for maybe the late night reading was about where it should've been. my dose, as prescribed by my doc, is broken down to 7.5 mg after i awake, and 5 mg, 5 hours later. yes, i am very curious to see which doses actually made a difference for people. and my doc said doses higher than 25 mg are probably unsafe. is this true? . Middiay shouldbe middle to sloghtly above mid of the AM levels. It is WAY too ,low. Your 4PM is probably about right and so is oyur midnight. I would not even mess with Isocort or glandulars with the AM beoing that low. You will need HC. I do nto believe high cortilsl is much better than low, but with high usually you can tolerate thyroid meds whihc helps to bring it back into balance. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I am not sure about the increase because technically that is supposed to be thyroid, so I think that could go either way depending on the person's thyroid condition. However, in my case, yes I did get an increase in temps. I am averaging 98.4 right now, which is the best I have been in at least 10 years. I think it is because with the added cortisol, the thyroid hormones are getting into the cells better. Now I just need to take T3 to help with my thyroid symptoms. I am going to try that next week. I still have tons of hypo symptoms even though my temps are up so I still have to experiment on what will help the hypo symptoms. Cheri -----Original Message----- hi cheri should we also observe an increase in temp or is it not important? bw Nil ----- Original Message ----- From: MsSquarepants Okay, well your dosage is very low and Isocort is much weaker than HC. Guest guest
>>i'm sorry, what is the diff. between isocort and HC?<< Isocort is a glandular OTC that is supposed to be standardized to contian about 2.45mg cortiosl per pellet, however we have found it to be a bit weaker than that. HC stands for hydrocortisone which is bioidentical for the cortuiosl in your body with nothing else. It is usually the drug of choice if you are stage 4 or above. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
