I have recurring infections, they are painful but the infections are at this point one or two a year so I don't think I'm a candidate for the surgery... I would go to the emedicine website and get more info.... Carol submandibular removal My son justin is 4 and has mito. His type is pyruvate transport deficiency and a sizeure disorder. justin's E.N.T is talking about doing a bilateral submandibular gland removal, bilateral parotid duct ligation. Does anyone know anything about this? Or has had this surgery done? Know of a web site to get info on this procedure? any info you may have on this will be a great help.
