Doctors must realize that they are dealing with human beings and that we

have emotions. If a mean person at Wal-Mart makes you feel bad or parks in

the wrong spot what do you do? You report them. Your note is no different,

I say give your ex-doc your eggs and basket...but make it confidential so

the nurses don't open it.

revenge on pediatrician

Deb,

though i certainly understand your anger and frustration, emotion never gets

your point across. when you place anyone in a defensive position, absolutely

nothing gets accomplished.

you have every right to be angry, etc, but in order to educate the physician

in question so that he/she won't make the same mistake next time, you might

be better off by making a non-emotional statement and leave out all those

parts about how he made you feel. though it is a big assumption to assume

that any person, regardless of occupation, will still get the message about

the harm they did to you, i suspect that the doc will ultimately understand

his/her mistakes in your case.

if we are going to get anywhere with mito, we need to educate and not

TURN-OFF any involved/interested parties. if you remember my vent a couple

of weeks ago, i probably would discount your entire letter as it is written

now and within a week forget the entire episode. medicine these days doesn't

allow us the luxury of time to spend with each individual patient, and

special needs kids require MUCH more time than anyone else.

so, you may want to re-write your note if you want to, as ultimately the

decision is yours.

just my $0.02.
