I posted a request for anyone to share symptoms, trouble w/getting trmt. from

doctors.

(will black out all addresses, etc, the judge wont have that info)

wondering if you could explain your experiences, albeit the similarities in

duration etc

I think I got initially in SC, then dx'd in 88 in PA

VA denies svc-cnnted, will be appealing that too,

have you had any difficulties at work, or unable to?

The standard (i.e. conventional) dose for lyme disease is 100 mg twice a

day, but LLMD's often prescribe a higher dose, totaling 300 to 400 mg per

day. Doctors vary in the way they prescribe it -- you should check with

your doctor.

Can anyone tell me what the dosages are normally for doxy? Thank you,

The 200mgs is the base dose listed in their little pocket book of meds.

It states that up to 400mgs can be rxed for Lyme.

ohhhh!

So that explains it.

I have been taking 100mg tablets and haven't had any stomach problems

except for some heartburn a few days ago. I started to wonder about that.

You know i was noticing the capsules tend to want to float around in my mouth.

I was thinking that can't be good for the stomach.

Did anyone see that show the other day talking about why you should not drink

liquids when you eat. I had always believed this. More from the fact that you

stretch out your stomach and it will hold more food.

This Doctor was saying the water or lizuid will dilute your natural digestive

juices and make it harder to digest the food.

What's the full name for Doxy? Can you really pick it up at Walmart?

[ ] doxy

, I was told by my herbalist that doxy stimulates the endocrine system (I

think I'm remembering this right). So once you go off it or switch drugs, the

body can go into a slump.

Take care,

Doxycycline, and yes, with a prescription, in the Walmart pharmacy.

Good luck. :)

Dear Madam

The correct name is doxycycline and you can find three forms of it on

the list of Walmart generics at

Carole,

I'm sorry but I don't remember why you take cellept?

Googling CPK I learned you should not do any strenuous exercise on the day

the blood is taken (I would not do any the day before either)..so if you are

feeling better maybe you are doing more??

You have only been on doxy 4 months..this is not a drug that will decrease

tests that fast.

I have been on minocin since 1997! I did 3 years of clindy IV's from 1998

then started again in August...so yes you can stay on doxy all you life but

probably at a reduced dosage when your tests go down to normal.

Subject: rheumatic Doxy

The question is; Can I take 100mg a day forever? My CPK and Aldolase

have slowly been going up since May.That is not good. Yet since I

started taking Doxy the end of July, I feel much better - I am still on

cellcept, though have taken it down a notch - I don't know what is going

to happen when I see my Rheumie in Cleveland next month. I am now

taking 5000mg of Carlson's fish oil daily, B100, 100,000 Vit D3 per week

- Armour Thyroid - I have to be getting better

I figured out that my back was a problem before I got sick - now it is

worse because the muscles went. The same with my shoulders.

Thanx for your help

For those who take doxy is it important to take the brand name vs the

generic? My pharmacist says they can only get 100 mg caps in brand. The

50 mg ones only come in generic and I wanted to start at 50 mg MWF.

Thanks

Hi ;

I hardly ever turn on my computer when I am busy and often go

weeks without looking at it.Caught your post just in time.It is usually

cheaper to get 100 mg capsules.Just carefully open it up ,make sure you

have equal amounts in each and make a little plug with a bit of

bread.Woks just fine.

It is my understanding that 80% of minocin is absorbed when taken with food.

I suspect that if you take just a little food, then the effect is even

smaller.

rheumatic Re: doxy

Hi Lynne

Thanks for the info. Good to hear from you. So you think brand is

important to get? Unfortunately I can't eat bread so maybe I can

put it in some coconut yogurt? So doxy does not need to be taken on am

empty stomach like mino?

Thanks

Hi McRae,

I don't know. I believe that a fungal or bacteria infection can be so bad that the sores, yes, must be effected but that it may also be sending a smell from our pores. If that is true, then the bath could help stop that. I believe that most of us had or are harboring a bacteria and/or fungus that lives on surfaces as well, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to include the olive leaf bathes at least for a while. If you still have mites/bugs, it may be worth your effort to include both internal and external treatments until you feel safe. That's just my guess.

Love and Light,

From: A McRae <shopsur2@...>Subject: Doxybird mites Date: Friday, January 21, 2011, 2:25 AM

Thanks Hugh,

just ordered the doxy. Thanks for info for steam press also. Thank you all for sharing. I have been taking the olive leaf complex which runs the mites out of the scalp but they go into the environment hoping the doxy will kill them from the inside. I dont have sores or lesions concerning olive leaf baths? Do you think it would be helpful even so? The fliers are very recent to me. Hopefully the doxy will slow things down before I move into new place. I am praying for everyone so please pray for me.

Thanks!
