Guest guest
Here is a gem I received a few days ago. We are obviously striking some nerves in the vegetarian/vegan community. I also received another one today from EX-vegans who are about to go public with their recent change to meat-eating and subsequent improved health. Apparently, though I've never heard of them, they are big deals in the vegan movement. I wish I could post the letter to our group, but the author asked to remain anonymous until they go public with their switch. I wrote a stinging response to the author of the below letter (hey--I give as good as I get). Its been my experience that people who claim to have been vegan for X number of years and are healthy, that they ALWAYS cheat from time to time. I even know one couple who own a health food store here in Honolulu who say they are vegetarians, but then confess to eating fish once a week! Anyway, enjoy. All the best, Byrnes, PhD, RNCP http://www.PowerHealth.net dear " doctor " byrnes, your article made me so mad i yelled at the screen at least a dozen times. for the last 17 years i have been vegan. i have had 3 wonderful healthy strong children while vegan and no miscarriages in my life. i have never been healthier in my life. my children are all vegetarian, play sports and have endless amounts of energy. i LOVE how all of your information comes from some of the worst places imaginable (ex-westonaprice.org), they spew more propaganda than peta (in my eyes, not a great champion for animal rights, or anything, for that matter) ever could. you could have gotten third party, reputable sources, but you blew your chance with that! i bet a million dollars you work for the meat and/or dairy industry. i hope you got paid a lot for this absolutely silly article. my views on people who write such ridiculous things about something as silly as being healthy are that you are just jealous that you haven't the strength or willpower to abstain from artery clogging swine fat. we all know the facts about meat consumption, don't try to candy coat the situation. thanks for raising my blood pressure with your tainted views. sincerely, nicole _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
