Guest guest
I'm new to AP and just started on minocycline a week ago. I'm taking the generic by TEVA because the Minocin was too expensive. My dr. started me on 100 mgs twice every day. I got very dizzy so she backed it down to 100mgs a day. I felt that I should be taking it MWF so today I started taking one in the morning and one in the evening. I am also taking 5 mgs of Prednisone a day. Are these side effects or herxing? My joints are more painful, sharper pain. I feel rather weak, low energy and mild dizziness especially as the afternoon goes on. Any suggestions on how to relieve the dizziness or do you just get used to the drug? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Gloria
Guest guest
Hi Gloria. I have been on Mino for RA since August 08. I did too start w/ 200 mg and had the dizziness/ headaches and increased pain particularly in my wrists. It was herxing and I just toughed it out for close to a month before it subsided. I found that if I took 100mg in the middle of the day w/ lunch and 100mg about 1 hr before bed it seemed to help. I feel so much better now its incredible! I also have added zith and diflucan to the regime. Good luck and do what you can tolerate...we are all different. lar rheumatic Side Effects and Herxing I'm new to AP and just started on minocycline a week ago. Guest guest
when i started, I took 200mg every day. I was pretty bad. Had had RA for 13 yrs. I did this protocol for a while and then added zith a few times a week and cut down on the mino to M, W F. I would also suggest to limit all sugars and carbs out of the diet,, it feeds the mycoplasmas. rheumatic Side Effects and Herxing > > > > > > I'm new to AP and just started on minocycline a week ago.
