Here's a good article from Dr.Mercola's website on the subject.

Apparantly his cholesterol was only 135 and he raised it:

I haven't had my cholesterol tested in a few years (I'm only 29), but when I

did have it tested I had just finished dealing with a major surgery and had

been low fat kindo-sorto-vegetarian for several years. I swear I remember

my level being between 120 and 140 (total) at the time (I really think it

might have been 120). My doctor was a bit concerned over the HDL/LDL ratio,

but not really concerned by the total levels. I didn't have any reason to

be concerned until the last 12 months. Now I'm thinking of possibly having

it tested again, but I'm not doing anything with my cholesterol levels

specifically in mind.

The last time (about 6 years ago) I got my cholesterol checked it was

128. The doctor wanted to know what I was doing because he had never

seen anyone with such a good number. The lower, the better. Not!

At the time I had two other problems. Hypoglycemia - blood sugar

between constantly between 20 - 60. And I had a gallbladder attack -

a problem associated with low cholesterol. Plus I was unable to gain

weight.

I fixed my blood sugar problem and weight problem by stimulating a

meridian point. I gained 40lbs overnight (in two months). Now I look

normal - 180lbs, 6ft. My blood sugar is now in a normal range (around

100).

I haven't had my cholesterol checked, but I assume it has increased

to a higher/better number. I have been working with a great

nutritionist to improve my diet and to improve my gallbladder.
