Guest guest
Hi, I am Dolores and just went through a few months of hell trying to get (1)Three docs to write letters on my behalf for brand name Minocin. (2) My fight with my insurance company to allow them to issue the brand name product (3) My pharmacist who told me no one was making it anymore (4) Tried the generic type which made me ill and in desperation, I called Precision Rx also called Next Rx and spoke to the Pharmacist and got the direct number to Triax. Found the pharmacy dept. of Triax and asked them point blank, " Do you still make Minocin? "  And the answer was " Of Course! "  I then told her the terrible time I was having in getting it. She called my pharmacy (CVS) and spoke to the pharmacist and now I have my minocin flowing in like it has been for the past 6 years. My problem is that I was in remission and all the above took three months to accomplish and I went out of remission. I am now trying to get back. And I am tired all the time. I feel like when I did 6 years ago when I first started on Minocin and was so sick. The esophagus is the worst and I can fall asleep standing up. That is how tired I am. This is the way I first started when I was diagnosed with CFID in 1986 and again Diagnosed with Scleroderma, R/A & MCTD in 2005.   Don't let them take away your Minocin. Triax is still making it in the pelletized form (Brand name) and in the (powdered form, generic called minocycline. Call Triax. Triax will call your pharmacy and make sure your pharmacy has the prescription that says, " not substitutions " if that is what you want. It was the fight from hell, but now they call me when the prescription is ready for pick-up. My co-pay is supposed to be $45.00 per month for 60 pills. The last time they only had 50 pills and that only cost me $15.00. I paid it and kept my mouth shut. We shall see what they charge me the next time which will be soon.  I don't remember where I put the number for triax, but if you call the two pharmacies and ask the pharmacist for the Triax number, they will give it to you.. When you get to Triax, ask for the pharmacy dept. They were very nice. They will call your pharmacy providing your pharmacy has the prescription from the doctor that says " No substitution "  Hope you all have luck and that your fight is easier than mine was. Dolores From: Cooky Stonkey <cookee1@...> Subject: rheumatic minocin " rheumatic " <rheumatic > Date: Friday, March 11, 2011, 4:27 PM  Hi again, The Medicine Shoppe in Canada at this time are no longer getting Minocin Stiefel brand. They could not tell me if or when they will ever get it. They said the manufacturer is no longer shipping it to them. I called Universal Drug services at 1 866 456 2456 and they have it. They also sell it in smaller quantities like 30 caps.50 caps and up to 400 caps! I am so sorry to panic everyone but I needed a refill and when they said the manufacturer was no longer shipping it I thought anyone who may need a refill soon might want to order in case they are no longer making it. cooky
