Guest guest
FYI.A herheimer was used to explain the process a patient with Syphalis goes thru when given Penicillin. The symptoms like a rash and the chancre gets worse and then it goes away and the person is no longer contagious or able to pass along syphilis. I am a nurse where this was explained 40 years ago during my schooling. I also worked in an STD clinic for 15 years and syphilis is getting to be a disease of the past except in certain places and that is why doctors and the public do not know or remember what a herx is. Guest guest
Hi Cooky, Just a quick question. If a member of your family (grandfather) had syphilis in their youth. Had an offspring die at birth. Prior to my mothers birth on her birth certificate it states that the offspring prior to her birth " deceased from syphilis " . Question: can the syphilis germ/virus be dormant in future offspring causing them medical problems OR will the virus only effect the initial person(grandfather). Have a cousin who has Reiter's Syndrome?. I have psoriatic arthritis and in a wheel chair have just had new testing done to see what is happening. Thank you rheumatic FYI herx FYI.A herheimer was used to explain the process a patient with Syphalis goes thru when given Penicillin. Guest guest
, No the syphilis bacteria cannot be dormant in your mother. If indeed your grandfather had 1st stage syphilis when she was conceived she would have died. That was the cause of her sibling's death. At her birth syphilis would have been second stage causing him many physical problems or tertiary which causes brain damage in him. So none of your problems would be from him having and passing on the bacteria. One more thing. When your mom was married she had a test for syphilis and if she had it. it would have showed up (not that she had it). Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thank you Cooky for your response. As far as I'm aware mum wasn't tested for syphilis. Cannot ask her as she died 1980(cancer) Was just a thought as it would have shed a light on my poor ailing health. Things have happened to me that no moral should endure so I try not to complain (doesn't work well something). I just have to get my soul to believe what I'm saying. When I say why not me as these are the cards I'm dealt and not complain. Some days just don't cut the martyr attitude.
