Guest guest
great question. CUrrently i am eating 6 raw eggs for breakfast with i think about 30g of raw butter. then for my next 2 meals of the day i am having cooked meat at the moment with raw butter ( about 30g once again ) at the moment i feel like i have stagnated. ( lik eenergy feels to be dipping ) I think this could be highly attributed to buying supermarket meat and supermarket eggs/butter. Unfortunatly i cannot find any other source right now. The eggs from the store are either free range or organic, yet i highly doubt their authenticity. I would really like to know how much eggs/raw meat and butter one shoudl eat for optimum health and perfromance. > Bianca, > > In your experience, how much raw meat, fish, eggs, > butter, etc. one needs to eat daily? Guest guest
Hi Roman, For a person who is eating a combo (i.e raw and cooked) diet, the amount of raw food necessary is variable. It all depends on the person. AV's recommendations are for people following his Primal Diet, which is raw or mostly raw. That is not to say 1-3 pounds of raw meat (seafood, red meat, fowl) wouldn't be beneficial in a raw/cooked combo diet, in fact I know several people who do just that. But AV also recommends 1/2 to 2 lbs raw fat and several other items as well. This of course is intially (though not solely) aimed at a person who is sick and wants to get well. So using that as a benchmark we can backtrack from there. In a nutshell, you have to experiment to find out what is best for you and how far you want to push it, assuming you are only suffering from the things mentioned below. But eight ounces of raw meat daily and several raw eggs will certainly improve your health. To what extent will vary with each individual. In your case it may and probably should turn out to be a boon, depending on what else you are doing. And don't forget the easiest raw animal foods for most people to incorporate are dairy products, assuming you have access and can tolerate them. My advice for those who want to stay in the partially cooked camp, is to push the percentage until you get well and then hang out at that level for six months to a year. After that you can experiment with various percentages of raw vs cooked if you so choose. I would suggest going slow and working your way into eating raw meats. Try a very rare steak initially. It is tasty and socially acceptable. Then from there try carpaccio and tartar. Then later cut up some very small pieces of meat or fish and put them into a salad. Then pop a few in your mouth. You will be surprised how good it tastes. As far as fish there is always ceviche, but nothing quite beats a tasty tuna carpaccio. As time goes on you may find a larger percentage of your diet being devoted to raw animal foods. Only time will tell. Hope this helps, Bianca On Thu, 7 Mar 2002 16:38:20 -0800 (PST) Roman <r_rom@...> writes: Bianca, In your experience, how much raw meat, fish, eggs, butter, etc. one needs to eat daily? Will adding a couple of raw eggs and one or two 3-4 oz raw servings of meat and/or fish a day do any significant improvement in health? Guest guest
Roman, I think that live-foods is the forum for this question. AV himself said he saw gradual improvement in his health with a serving of raw meat once a week. -- J.
