n the early 1990s a doctor of Environmental Medicine told me about

grapefruit seed extract (GSE), and its many uses. In a recent email, I told

someone in the rheumatic group about GSE for killing Candida & she suggested

that I share my info with the entire group.

Here's a website which probably tells you more than you ever wanted to know

about GSE.

http://www.nutriteam.com/index2.html

There are many other sites too. Just search for the term

" grapefruit,seed,extract "

One use for GSE is to kill Candida. Because I was skeptical about that

claim, I gave some GSE to a college professor who was doing laboratory

testing on the medicinal properties of plants. She found that GSE, in fact,

DOES kill Candia as well as other remedies do.

I buy GSE at a health food store & use it for many purposes.....to clean

fruits & vegetables.....as a disinfectant mixed with water to clean my

kitchen countertops.....and in water to mop the floor. The liquid GSE comes

in

a small bottle which costs around $10, but lasts a long time because you use

only a few drops at a time. It also comes in pill form. I take the pill

form when I'm coming down with a virus & the GSE seems to shorten the life

of the virus.....just my own observation...not a scientific study. <grin>

IMO allopathic AF such as lamisl (systemic) and oral amp B. or

Nystatin, diflucan etc are the only method of really treating fungi

issues.

Are you asking if allopath substances are the only way to treat fungi

issues? I'm not sure what you are saying

Dear Agent Bleu,  There is never a " one only way " for anything and everything.

That is why research is so necessary.  Every day we are discovering ways to

relieve our symptoms from whatever ails us. And not everything works on

everybody.  We are all different and we all respond differently to everything in

general.  Take identical twins.  One may show signs of being allergic to peanuts

and the other one lives on peanut butter sandwiches.  On this site we share what

has helped us because it may help someone else, but not necessarily.  These are

suggestions from people helping people and we all don't agree on methods but

respect each others wishes to share and help.  If you have any question about

anything, and it does not work for you.  Keep asking.  Also., google everything

and there are other sites to post on and get different points of view.  The goal

here is to help our sister and brothers to achieve optimum healthy states & to

continue

to enjoy life as well as we can and be able to live within our parameters and

our disabilities.  I think without these wonderful people to talk to and listen

to, half of us wouldn't be alive.  We need to lighten up and laugh and love

more.  Besides all the treatments and medications that goes a long way.  The

best to all of you, Dolores

??

Dolores I dont get your point at all, I'm simply sharing my

experience. which is what you say this group is about, correct me if

I'm wrong but am I not allowed to post this here? In which case I

shall not... OLE GSE etc etc. did nothing for me apart from make me

feel ill... Allopathic AF on the other had a marked effect. As I

said. I never said one size fits all. far from that, I agree with the

uniqueness...

Hey, bleu!

I know that you tried a bunch of natural stuff we were doing together, and it is

encouraging that you finally found relief via allopathic materia medica--and

Thank You, for sharing your experiences; we all appreciate this very much.  Many

people have been helped on the alternative stuff, but I got my own self into a

serious flare trying to rely upon " natural " antibiotics--GSE was the main one.

Hope you are enjoying the Riviera,

Best to You,

Hey

Always nice to hear from you. I hope your doing well now. What a

journey this has been for us all. I saw so much propaganda spouted

during my crisis by both sides (the war between the allopathic and

alternative movements) and to be honest it just makes me sick to hear

it. Both have areas where they excel but those that try to believe it

into being true 'that natural is better than allopathic' or vis a

versa either have an agenda or just don't get it.

Mind I'm not here to force my opinion just now and then feel like a

few words might just help others. God if it was not for people like

you who was kind enough to share their hard won knols with me I would

have suffered even more.

But to set the record straight, I think I must have tried every tool

in the box (I'm sure) and my conclusion is that diet, minerals,

probiotics, allopathic antibiotics & anti-fungals, herbs (for

hormones mostly where they excel), exercise, and for some even novel

approaches like Benicar (though IMO not the nonsense from MP). & one

size does not fit all...

Im really making gains now, the last problem for me has been Gluten,

since removing this completely Im really seeing gains. It's so great

to start to enjoy days again...

best to all.
