Guest guest
Hi:) I can tell you that from my own experience that getting off the methotrexate, plaquenil, etc., was the best gift I have ever given myself. I am slowly tapering off of celebrex and prednisone. And, my body is responding so well. I still have the earlier battle scars--the hip replacements, knee replacement, hand and feet surgeries that tell the outside world that my diagnosis was once rheumatoid with lupus tendencies. But, on antibiotics, my deforming has stopped, and do I ever feel better. I wish all of us could be better. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Yes, It is a part of the disease which causes slow motility. This means the food doesn't go down like it should and lays around rotting long after it is supposed to be digested. Yes, Antibiotics kills all the bacteria in your stomach even the good bacteria necessary for digestion. So, you go to the drug store and buy a probiotic that replaces the good bacteria. It goes by the name of acidophillus or lactobacillus. It's the same bacteria that is in yogurt. If you can tolerate dairy, you can also eat a yogurt before meals and then eat. The bacteria will speed up digestion. You can also buy these in grocery stores or health food stores. I takee one or two prior to meals. Good luck~~~~~Dolores Carolyn Brownlee <carolynbrownlee@...> wrote: Is anyone else having problems with their digestive system? Guest guest
Just one more note on Gerd. HCL is hydrochloric acid, a very essential digestive acid and what Lynne says is true. She has a scientific background and I am a nurse. You also have digestive enzymes coming in from your pancreas called Amylase and Lypase The mere smell of food triggers these enzymes to start flowing. Digestion also starts in the mouth from the salivary glands, so chew your food well We both take the probiotics and it helps most of the time if we stick to our diets and take fluids which helps get the food down there and keeps us from getting constipated or dehydrated. It also lubricates the joints by making synovial fluid and flushes out the toxins. Also, do not lay down on a full stomach or after medications. The contents of your stomach and esophagus will back up and cause that burning sensation. I'm fine as long as I don't see any tamales, HeHe! Good luck!~~~~~Dolores R. lynneandsantos <lynneandsantos@...> wrote: One more thought.Just about everyone over 40 has much less HCL in the stomack so get some digestive enzymes to go with the pre and pro biotics.Yes they are different and both are needed. Guest guest
Hi all. I thought id mention I started on my biotidentical hormones and armour thyroid this week (tuesday to be exact) they said i wouldnt see any difference for weeks, but I usually do alot quicker on meds than most (more sensitve) anyway. I will say that by weds...I didnt need a nap!!! Ive gone3 days with no lunch-time nap!!!!! not only that, I shut off the TV and went outside and worked in the garden during my lunch break! so maybe thats a coincidence, but I dont think so. But i actually sit around thinking " what can i go do next " which i havent done in 15 years... so Im hoping this is true and the meds are helping me out and I can get my life better now!!!! Guest guest
Where do you go to get bioidentical hormones? Do you have to have a prescription, and do you need a script for Armour thyroid? If so, what kind of doctor dispenses them? I'm really anxious to hear. Thanks and looking forward to learning, **************It's Tax Time! Get tips, forms and advice on AOL Money & Finance. Guest guest
You need a script for bioidenticals and for armour thyroid. Most docs do not even know or care about bio idents. Alopathic docs will never order armour thyroid. Homeopath docs dispense both. Ask the druggist in your area who they recommend or look in the phone book for a compounding pharmacy and ask there. I found my doc because he was giving a talk on female problems. If you let me know where you are from I may be able to get my compound pharmacist to see if there is a doc in your area. Guest guest
I used Bellview Pharmacy, they did a questionaire and then a phone consult and they wrote up a prescription and info sheet type thing, they emailed that to me and i took it with me to my Drs. and no my regualr Drs would NOt sign it, but thru asking around I found an open minded Dr who DID sign it and then I faxed it back to bellview (compounding pharmacy) and they filled the prescription and mailed it to me. I am now switiching most of my records to the new DR and she also said she was more than willing to sign for the minocycline also...yeah!
