Guest guest
From what all the better doctors that USE HC have said it is onyl wiht PROLONGED high steroid sdoses that cause adrenal supression that doew snot come righ back as soon as it is stopped. I believe this as I have been on 30-60 MG for three years and my adrneals are nto supressed. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Val, How do you know they are not suppressed? Have you had an ACTH stim test? Do you think I should start lowering my HC and see if I can get a stable temp at a lower dose? Really grasping at straws here. Varying up to a whole degree. Even more variation is seen if I include the days when I was running a fever. I have been charting now since the beginning of November. I am at 30mg of HC but have been as high as 35mg and though I might see 2 or 3 days where the temps are stable, they don't stay there. I am hesitant to go any higher with the HC as I am of slight build. I am 5'7 " and weigh 127lbs (down 10lbs since starting HC but that could be because I am not bed bound as much) I don't know where to go from here. I had that big emotional stress on New Year's that really set me back. I am better, but still significantly fatigued from it. I reached 30HC at beginning of Dec and with the infection I had I stress dosed several days. One day I had as much as 52mg. Then I backed down to 35mg and stayed there for over 2 weeks. Now I am afraid that I have been taking too much and that the reason I am not bouncing back is that I shut my adrenals down by taking higher than my physiological dose for too long. I have been checking my glucose periodically 1st thing in the AM and it is between 83 to 104 (only 2 over 100) with the average being 94. My BP is low - 100/67 pulse 90 sitting and 94/77 pulse 106 standing. Any thoughts? Thanks, English
Guest guest
OK have you had Aldosterone tested? This could be part of why the temps are not stabilizing. If thta tests out OK then I would raise HC more, or go to more cream or even both as it may absorb better. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.seewell4less.com/Valspage.htm Medical Alert Bracelets

I am going to do a 24 hour urine Aldosterone test tomorrow. Is that a good test? or do you think the blood test is better?

I think I am going to make an appt with my gp who seems open and ask for a retest of the blood aldosterone along with Ferritin and some other things.
