Just curious -- were you on the way to acromegaly? None of my

business, but someone I loved had had it, and a specialist in Dallas,

curiously enough, at Parkland, tested him for a week and decided it

had arrested itself. He did have a large lower jaw, though, come to

think of it.

To Cammie

Yes I had acromegaly. It affected more than my lower jaw bone. I

had all symptoms of acromegaly except for the enlargement of the

organs and blindness. The doctors were extremely surprised that I

wasn't blind because the tumor pressed against my optical nerve.

Also acromegaly can give symptoms of heart trouble. I was in the

hospital for 3 days for observation because the enzymes in my blood

read 6x normal of a regular EKG reading. My heart is perfectly

healthy.

I hope and pray that that someone you loved is still alive and

looking to have thereselves checked out thoroughly. If that person

is still seeking help have them get with a Dr. McPhaul at UTSW, a
