Hi Theresa....my daughter suffered from this too when she went away

to college. I am sure the causes are endocrine in nature, but

stress does play a major role. Since both you and your husband show

endocrine issues, you may want to test her thryroid and adrenals as

well as sex hormones.

My daughter tried everything topical and nothing really made an

impact. Turns out she was hypo, and since being on T3 it is much

better. As far as supplementing, fish oil, primrose oil and lots of

vitamin E should help. Cleaning up diet helps a lot as well...no

more junk food! LOL

Good luck....I know its hard to see our little girls suffer.

I don't really have any advice to offer, but wanted to let you know you

aren't alone. One of my daughter's good friends has this problem, but it is

pretty much all over her body. Nothing she and her mother have tried have

really made a difference. It seems to be better in the summer, but that is

about it. After reading some of the responses to you, I am going to ask her

mom if she has been tested for low thyroid correctly or not though!

The best thing to do is check for food allergies. My son has eczema as well but

it only seems to flare when he eats foods he is allergic to. Dairy, wheat,

eggs, soy, peanuts all the high allergy foods. You could try an elimination

diet. I know it isn't fun :(

Aside from that, cod liver oil helps a lot for us. And keeping the area well

moisturized with a good natural cream.

HTH!

Please Help!! ECZEMA

My fourteen year old daughter has had eczema on her hands for a couple of

years on and off but now she has it in a lot more places on her body and her

hands have gotten real bad and she gets upset because people start asking

her what is wrong with your hands? My husband has had eczema since he was a

kid and has asthma and other issues too. I have thyroid problems and have

Hashimoto too. Is there anything that can help her that is natural?

Thank you for all your advice and help in advance.

Read the label of everything you put in your mouth including vitamins

and toothpaste. If it's got Yellow 5 food color, stop it for a week

and see if symptoms improve. Yellow 5 causes hives, eczema, and asthma

in some.
