Guest guest
Can hypothyroidism contribute to TIA's (transient ischemic attack - small stroke in the brain) in the elderly? I know did all the connecting work between arteriosclerosis and hypoT, but TIAs are (I think) more just arterial plaque that's *already* there that breaks off, not new accumulation which would be what was talking about. But hypoT might also affect vascular inflammation, which I think we know believe is closer to what actually causes arteriosclerosis at base - has anyone ever proposed a biological mechanism connecting the two? Guest guest
Arteriosclerosis is VERY common in long term hypothyroidism so whether they have proven cause & effect I would say it is there. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
