Guest guest
Also talked to my doc about MINOCIN. She said that they use it. But they don't use it for its antibiotic properties. They use it for an anti-inflammatory and cartilage rebuilding property (helps damaged cartilage/collagen/elastin tissues to heal) found in tetracyline derivatives. At this stage she is reluctant to add anything more to my list of meds -- she thinks enough is enough. I am willing to go along with her because I am doing OK without Minocin. Since I know she uses it for other patients, I feel more comfortable with her decision. If she had never heard of using it for Rheumatoid disease I would keep after her until I knew she was well-informed enough to make a valid decision not to give it to me. It sounds like you would have to know just what the relevant drug properties are in order to talk to your own doc about using Minocin to treat RP if that doc is generally uninformed about the disease or Rheumatoid conditions in general.
