Guest guest
I would ask to be tested before starting the antibiatic...i have read you should have it tested thru igenx labs first .if you have had this a long time you may need to watch for toxic die off.remeber to stay out of the sun when on doxy MoLymie
Guest guest
Yeah i agree If you have clinical symptoms you should start meds right away...I was just saying that if you have it the meds could interfere with testing.howeveri do understand that with clinical symptoms the test results arent helpful. Guest guest
I wouldn't wait to be tested before taking abx! I've never had a positive test and if I hadn't started abx I probably would be bedridden, or worse. You might experience some herxing on doxy, which means you will probably feel worse before feeling better, but you can't let that stop you. The problem is that you probably got a 2 or 4 week RX for doxy for the other condition but you will probably need at least several months if not several years. Some LLMDs will start treating before your visit if you have a positive blood test so it might help for that. Maybe you should tell the LLMD you are starting doxy. Guest guest
you also need to let the doctor know the dose of doxy because a low dose is not good either, check with your doctor about that.. eric --- big2be20012002 <giffordj@...> wrote: > > I wouldn't wait to be tested before taking abx! > I've never had a > positive test and if I hadn't started abx I probably > would be > bedridden, or worse. I haven't actually had my appt yet with the LLMD, so they were reluctant to give me any advice. So I decided to start taking it today -- 100mg twice a day. Very tired today unfortunately, after feeling very energetic all week. Very dry eyes as well (trying to drink lots of water). Perhaps just coincidence. Tom A. Guest guest
Thanks for the feedback, . Coincidentally, I was talking with someone tonight whose LLMD prescribed precisely that amount for him to treat lyme, although that didn't cure him. I guess the bottom line is I guess it can't hurt until I have my appt with my doctor. Thanks, Tom A. Re: [ ] Re: Doxy Question 200mg a day can only hold back the infection, it cant fight it unless you go up in dose and that would require a doctor. eric
Guest guest
tom 200mg is not enoough but I cant say with out you going to a doctor to give you the ok i cant tell you to take a higher dose,400 is usualy the lowest..I was ral bad untill i did 600 for a month and it started to kill the infection.. ask your doc --- Tom <ta33@...> wrote: > > Thanks for the feedback, . Guest guest
Why are some of you on doxy and others on minocyclin? So, I started with Doxy. Low. Only 50 mg on MWF. Sorry to hear about your stomach pains. Hopefully someone with experience will have some good suggestions for you, .
