Guest guest
I had the same problem with minocycline. It lasted for 2 months then my stomach got used to it. I heard from others that they had stomach problem with minocycline at first. for your information doxy also have the same problem. I am taking minocycline and doxy together. after two months I get stomach upset with doxy. you can try to take minocycline with some cracker (make sure it is not fortifide with calcium ). hope it helps you. your body will get used to it eventually. soheila From: Petty <jamespetty@...> Subject: rheumatic Re: Doxy question rheumatic Date: Friday, August 22, 2008, 8:40 PM Is there a reason you chose this over minocyclin? The reason I ask is I am about a month into my AP therapy on minocyclin and my stomch/lower abdomen (might be more accurate), is really killing me.... Starting to look into alternatives that might not bother me this much > > > Why are some of you on doxy and others on minocyclin? Guest guest
Replies in your letter Cooky, Thanks for the suggestions I aloe vera gel and glutamine. I have some very good glutamine that I used to take regularly when I was weight training often (before the RA) but I'll admit I am not regular at all in taking it. I will try to step it up. I DON'T MEAN TO MISLEAD YOU. THESE MAY NOT MAKE YOUR BELLY FEEL BETTER BUT IT'S WORTH A TRY. As far as the probiotic, I am taking one but I have no clue as to what constitutes a good pro biotic. Here is a link to the one I am taking http://www.nutritio <http://www.nutritionnow.com/PB8.htm> nnow.com/PB8.htm It says it has 14 billion CFUs per 2 tablets. I try to take 2 a day w/ food. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME. MAYBE SOME WHO KNOW MORE WILL HELP OUT HERE. I JUST TAKE DIFFERENT ONES AND HOPE THEY WORK. :-)) I am reading The New Arthritis Breakthrough and am nearly done. Which is how I heard about AP and then found this site. I have not read the histories section though, perhaps I should per your suggestion for tips. Also, I do take all my meds with food in an attempt to get this pain/discomfort under control. WELL THAT'S ALL I CAN RECOMMEND EXCEPT LIKE SOMEONE ELSE SAID IT MAY TAKE A WHILE FOR TUMMY TO GET USED TO IT. I WOULD TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT IF THIS STILL GOES ON MORE THAN 2 TO 3 WEEKS. AS I SAID BEFORE DOXY IS BAD ON THE TUMMY BUT A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT (I AM ONE WHO DOES). IT ALSO MAY BE THE TYPE OF MINOCYCLINE.SOME OF THE FILLERS MAY BE THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE MANY DIFFERENT MFG OF MINOCYCLINE (THIS IS THE GENERIC OF MINOCIN) AND EACH OF THEM DO DIFFERENT THINGS TO THEIR PRODUCT. HOW BIG IS YOUR PRESCRIPTION? MAYBE WHEN YOU REFILL IT YOU COULD EITHER GET MINOCIN OR ASK FOR A DIFFERENT MFG BRAND OF MINOCYCLINE. NOW UNDERSTAND SOME GENERIC BRANDS DO NOT WORK VERY WELL FOR SOME PEOPLE AND HAROLD HAS A WEB SITE THAT HAS HOW MANY PEOPLE DO WELL ON EACH OF THE GENERICS AS REPORTED TO HIM. BY THE WAY ANYONE READING THIS.IF YOU TAKE A GENERIC MINOCIN AND HAVE NOT LET HAROLD KNOW YOUR MFG AND HOW IT IS WORKING FOR YOU .PLEASE DO!! Good luck .
