Val and others:

I finally caved in to tried to begin the taper since my bronchitis

still had not gone away. I took the first two tablets from the blister

pack for day one, morning. Which equals 8mg prednisolone.

Within 20 minutes or so, I was sorry I did. I started feeling mentally

odd, panicky. I spent most of the day feeling agitated, nervous,

sweating, like my head was a thousand degrees hotter than my body, a

bit nauseas, tightness in the chest, not hungry. Like I was on 10 pots

of coffee. Middle of winter and I was ripping my coat off in the car

becuase I was horribly hot.

Needless to say, I did not take any more of it. I had to lay down

later in the day because despite being revved up I was exhausted

still. By evening, I was feeling a bit calmer, still tight in the

chest, and my legs were aching a lot, bone pain. Which is not

something I usually have.

I woke up the next morning with a bit of ambition and not as tired. I

got a lot done that morning but quickly went back to my tired out

self. So I seem to have gotten a tiny burst of good effect the next

day, but the day I took that one dose...was hell. I am guessing...that

8mg is too much.

It seems almost stupid to me that they would prescribe you to take a

total of 24 mg of prednisolone on the first day and then wean down

from there. It makes more logic to being a low dose gradually increase

and then wean back down.??

Any takes on my reaction?
