Guest guest
Val and others - Wondering if anyone has used Relora and if I should use it. I have hypothyroidism and just had saliva testing done with cortisol getting near high-normal and at noon it was 0. I have high-normal blood pressure just starting - I have always had very low blood pressure until now. I went to the health food store to get adrenal support herbs and the salesman sold me Relora - said it was good for adrenal support - will lower cortisol and raise DHEA. I have found some info on the web but not much - it is more of a weight loss kind of thing which this guy told me also. He also sold me Adrenal Health capsules with holy basil and rhodiola. He said to use the Relora for 1 month and then switch to the Adrenal Health (Gaia Herbs Liquid Phyto-Caps). I am on 1 grain Armour Thyroid that I take right before bedtime on an empty stomach. Thanks for your help. Chris
Guest guest
Val - Here are my results. To me it looks as if my cortisol is high normal. Is it unusual to have a 0 result at noon when the rest of the time the cortisol looks high? Would this be a lab error. All I know is that I took a Relora last night and this morning and feel right now as if I could curl up in a ball and sleep for days. I usually do not feel this tired since being on the Armour. As for taking the Armour at bedtime I had read on Shoman's site that it had more effectiveness taking it in the p.m. No? Thanks! Guest guest
P.S. The testosterone level is not right - I typed that in wrong the first time I posted my saliva results on the board (copied it into this thread) - I cannot remember what the correct level is, but it is in the " normal " range and is definitely not 15. Guest guest
I would not take Relora for these numbers either. What I would suggest is Licorice root around 9-20 AM to extend the life of the AM cortils you have to carry you through mid day better. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
I have not read that taking thyroid at night was better and most take it sublingually in the morning. The numerous information that I have read recommends taking it in the morning. But..if it's working for you. It might work better in the am who knows. The Relora making you tired tells me it's suppressing you further. I agree on taking licorice to extend your cortisol into the day. Since your saliva test did not really look bad for adrenals. It is odd that it would be 0 at noon, but normal the rest of the day. Maybe it is really low at 12. Try something like licorice, see how it goes. See the saliva test I have over here, all the cortisol is low except at midnight, which is normal and the dhea is low too. So it shows clear adrenal fatigue. Yours all seem to fit for normal other than the noon. Which could be error, or low. Either way, licorice is a good place to begin. > > > > Val - > > > > Here are my results.
