Guest guest
Hi All, I've been lurking for a little while. I am in my 50s & was diagnosed with hypothyroid when I was 7. I developed symptoms of Cushings when I was 10 or 11 (crimson stretch marks on top of my shoulders & belly, vertiglai (sp?) on my forearms & a big belly), but never diagnosed for that. My mother started me on diets when I was 7 or 8. There was probably 20+ years when I stopped taking thyroid meds. About 4 years ago, I had a medical issue with my knee & didn't notice that my thyroid meds (Levoxyl) were no longer effective. I gained 80 lbs in 1 year & am having a very difficult time loosing it. Last year I started researching current thyroid knowledge on the web. I've found a DO who is willing to working me. In December 2007 I switched from .175mcg of Levoxyl to 1/2 grain of Armour. I'm taking it as 1 dose, sublingually in the morning. I'm supplementing with b-12, vitamin E & C & Selenium. I've recently switched ot Celtic seasalt. I've just received test results from both blood tests & the DT test kit from the Canary Club, both taken during the same week - the results are below. I have very low cortisol production & my DO has prescribed 30gms of 10% HC creame from a local compounding pharmacy, which I'll be starting tomorrow at 1 gram/day. One thing to note: I have not gone through menopause, but I've got a cyst on my ovary & am no longer having periods because of that. I'm interested to hear feedback on the labs. I'm surprised that my Reverse T3 is so low with this level of cortisol. Regards,
