Hello Group,

Could anyone advise if you have suffered with the following after long term

use of minocycline?

1. Staining of teeth?

2. Any pulmonary complications

3. A 2003 study in Switzerland found that continual use of tetracyclines

could lead to " pulmonary lupus & hypersensitivity pneumonitis "

4. Continual use " may well include possible contraction of Sweets Syndrome "

* If you have suffered from any of the above could you please advise how

long you were taking the minocycline before symptoms appeared?

* Do these symptoms disappear when you stop the minocycline?

* Has your RA improved?, for taking the minocycline?

Any help here would be great.

Thank you

Maybe the generic didn't work on you or you need a different antibiotic. It

would be interesting to see what mycoplasma you have and if it is killed by

minocin or needs Zithromax or cipro.

As for the metho.it is a demard (I think) and it should bring down the

swelling or maybe you had a cortisone shot with it. (Not being sarcastic

here). But metho will not stop the damage. There are thousands of people who

can say that for sure.

I hope you do return to AP.

I'm the reverse. on AP my knee got as big as a balloon for over a year

whereas 3 months of MTX brought the swelling right down and my knee is

normal. It may have been because Minocin was withdrawn from the market for

over a year so they could change the flyer, the generic didn't work but I

may return to AP one day.
