Guest guest
Hi Amy, concerning your mail about drinking Jodi's doctor told her not to have even one. She is already in cirrhosis stage so I don't know about your situation. Best to ask your doctor. Hope you are having a good week end. Guest guest
Amy it's me again. The doctor told Jodi that getting pregnant would be the worse thing she could do. Of course there again your situation could be different. Jodi has a problem with a low platelet count, which is something I haven't heard anything about in this group. At the present her count is 38,000 and bleeds very easily. To be on the safe side, again I would ask my doctor. Genny
Guest guest
Genny, Does sound as if Jodi is having some rough times becoming adjusted to meds that will work for her. I myself am trying to understand low platelet count and what it means on my lab reports. But logic tells me she will bleed easy since her liver is so delicate at this time. Hopefully in time she will be able to stabilize out. gayle/trans.6-99 galye@... ^0^ `

Guest guest
Hi Amy, Sorry it's taken me so long to write back. It sounds like you are doing pretty well overall with the AIH. Have they considered that you might have PBC? I think that goes hand in hand with colitis and one of the symptoms is iching...just wondered. I'm sure they already ruled it out... may I ask if you are able to draw SSDI? The fatigue does make it hard for me to work. I'm self employed... I work part-time for friends who do relationship seminars (out of my home) and I do Kay. But, I " m finding it hard to work with the fatigue and chasing after my busy busy 19 month old son, C.J. He's the reason I'm trying to keep a positive attitude... everyone reacts to news differently. We all handle it the best way we can. I'm sure you had to go thru what you did to move to the next stage. My mom lives in OH (I'm in MI) and my husband's family is 45 minutes away. I really couldn't just give up if I wanted to...even temporarily! My son needs me too much.... Don't get me wrong, in an emergency, they'd be here in a heartbeat...I just don't have the everyday help of someone if I stayed in bed.... you asked about my son....as I said, he's 19 months old, thin and tall, thin brown hair, beautiful blue eyes (everyone comments), and a bundle of energy! he's been walking since before he was 10 months old, so he's been on the go a long time. He's my pride and joy. How about your kids? I look forward to getting to know you better, Beth, AIH 10/00 MI [ ] Re: Beth > Hi Beth, its Amy. I was diagnosed 10 months after I had my son. Guest guest
Amy,   At first i thought this paian was actually a hernia. When i bent to tie shoes or whatever, it felt like something popped out, so i would stand and in a few moments the pain would subside. That had been going on for several months.  Acouple of weeks ago, it became more consistent but still not real painful, just sore in the area. I went to the doc and he first asked me if i had thought about my liver. I am not the one with AIH, my son is, and believe it or not i have not even thought about the possiblity of it being my liver. Scared me to death. He did notice that my liver was swollen and ordered an ultrasound on my gallbladder and liver. I also had the same labs done and all of you do , the lft's. Labs came back fine but they definitelu saw lots of stones in my gallbladder. It needs to come out. Since that time i have been having alot of pain, especially in my back and upper abdomen. Seems that what is going on the that the stones are blocking the way for the bile to help in the digesive process and that is causing the pain. At least that is what i understand. I do know that 3 advil  and a heating pad helps alot. Yes, Amy get it checked out and let us know. Rosemary
Guest guest
Hi I have had it done both ways. I prefer by the radiologist. He also gives you something to relax, numbs the area on your neck, inserts a needle and guides it to your liver. Now having a choice, I will definately use the radiologist. Much less painfull, lesser risks. I had versed when I had it done the other way, I remember everything!! Tracie
Guest guest
Hi, Amy, I am from land, and going to graduate school in Cambridge, MA. Where are you from? Isn't Dr. D. a wonderful man and physician? I don't know where I got bitten (I remember a tick bite in NY State, and there are a number of other possible places, such as Cape Cod). I was here in school when I fell ill. I had been to countless other doctors in MA before a guardian angel (who is on this list) saw my posts on a Chronic Fatigue Syndrome list and sent me to him. Now I am back in school and working on my dissertation. If you'd like, write me about your treatment and how you're doing. I'm sorry it sounds like your little ones have this, too. But they will be in good hands. Sincerely, Marie On Wed, 13 Jun 2001 A1M1BISHOP@... wrote: > Hi Marie where are you from??? Guest guest
Well, I DO carry all of my weight in my tummy. Hopefully, after the TT, I will be more well proportioned and a size 12. That's my goal, and that's what I'm hoping for! :-) Amy. Amy Hi Amy! I am sorry! I bet though when you get your TT that you will be smaller than I am. Then I get to go WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! LOL!!! I have always been able to have high numbers of weight and wear a sizes smaller than you would think. I dont understand it, except I am built very solid. On Trishs website, in that picture of me, I was wearing a size 16 and weighing at 218. Bad Carla. Guest guest
My family is great - very happy to have me HOME! I'm about a 10 now. Remember, I'm tall! 5'8 " ! Thanks for the compliments, though. I've lost an additional 5 inches in my hips, so now I've lost almost 20 since WLS. WOW. Thanks again for everything you did Phyllis. You are a true gem!!! Love, Amy. Re: Amy Hi Amy: Glad to hear you are still doing so well. Sounds like a winner to me. Was I not right? Do you or are you going to be about a size 8 or below? Guest guest
Amy, Is that the pain med he sent you home with? Remember I am having mine done on an outpatient basis and I am going home an hour or 2 after my surgery. I am just not sure what to tell him to give me with our restrictions after the MGB to certain meds. Thanks, Liz
