Hi...this question is for the person in our group who mentioned Dr.

Lubetsky out of West Bloomfield, MI. Do you know is he treats RA with AP? If

so, any experience with success and his method? I have a dear friend who has

RA and Dr. Brownstein isn't taking new patients right now and when he opens

up, it's a very long wait. She would like to try Dr. Lubetsky since she's very

familiar with Henry Ford Hospital where he's located.

thanks very much

Judy

Hi Judy,

I called Dr. Lubetsky's office and told him my situation. I have

Dermatomyositis and was recently tested for bacteria that could be the

underlying cause. My primary doc found a abnormal high count of

Chlamydia pneumoniae. I asked him if he treated DM with antibiotics

and he said he no but it would be appropriate to treat the Chlamydia

pneumoniae with antibiotics. So my guess is if he has proof that there

is a bacterial infection he will go ahead and take care of that as

opposed to just dismissing it like most docs.

He is accepting new patients and my appt. is Oct. 13th. This will be

my first visit to him. I will ask if he treats RA with antibiotics.

Also I would encourage your friend to call Henry Ford and just ask a

general question about him using antibiotics as a treatment option for

RA patients. He may be more inclined to use it for RA patients versus

DM. Out of all the auto immune disorders it seems that RA patients

have the most treatment options and the rest of use are just catching

the left over research " scraps " ^_^

whoops....wrong button, sorry

thanks so much for sending all that info which I passed along to my friend

today. She will do just that and call Henry Ford and hopefully, find out some

more. In the meantime, she is beginning Humira (sp?) soon b/c she is desperate

and her rheumy told her " AP is somewhat helpful SOMETIMES but not in

advanced cases like hers " . That got me furious! I've given her the tools and

she's

intelligent and does dig herself, but is hurting so much right now. I even

" lent " her my Henry S. book (completely highlighted over the yrs) and she GAVE

it to her rheumy, not to much avail.

I thank you once again for the info.

Judy
