Cooky,

Thanks for your advice. I think I may cut back or cut out the Clindy

because yesterday I had such painful abdominal gas I really couldn't

take it. That could be te Diflucan, I guess, but I only take that

once a week, and I think it's the Clindy.

I will call Dr Whitman today. The itch is better, somewhat, and I

think the extra acidophllus got it.

Your support was important.

I have started to take: Cal/Mag with Boron, since I have to take a Vitamin D3

for it to work with my bones and muscles. It seems to help and no cramps in my

legs.

*One thing about calcium & magnesium is that too much of one will

out the other. They need a balance. The most common recommendation is

2:1 ratio (meaning 2 parts calcium to 1 part magnesium). This will

vary, & some will say 1:1 ratio. Here's a page about some of that, &

I've copied two sentences from this page & pasted below.

Calcium & Magnesium:* Both elements share left / right-sided cell

receptors and are essential to

human health.

While calcium affects muscle contractions, magnesium balances that

effect and relaxes the muscles

Also,

If you aren't taking getting calcium from supplements or diet, then the

body takes it from bones, etc, so that your blood calcium level stays in

a range to make it available to heart & organs.

It could be the Clindy but you may want to try it at some later date.

Thanks for letting me know it worked.

Hi Amy, Thank you for the info on mag/calcium and the different forms and what

they do.  I have some studying to do on the subject.   Thanks to the rest of you

for so much information re: leg cramps.  Will let you know how that turns out.

I've had leg cramps off and on since before I was diagnosed with Scleroderma.

Both before and after A/P and M/P.  So, it's been a long time that I must have

been deficient in something, either Ca or Mag or both.  In Feb my levels of mag

were a bit low. That's when I started the slo-mag.   Once the arythmias went

away, I started cutting back. I can only drink milk w/o lactose and I don't have

it often.  A half/gallon lasts me a month.  Lactose free milk has a long shelf

life.  The only time I put a little of it in my cup is when I make a hot cocoa

from Hersey 's pure chocolate powder without sugar or artificial sweeteners.

And that is maybe twice a month.  Most times I throw the milk down the drain.

I would like to buy just a quart of it, but HEB doesn't sell it in quarts.  But

thanks to you all.  I really appreciate the input.  Dolores
