Guest guest
Hi, Sally. There are probably many more out there with better experience with surgery and the options. As you have just started your ABX and have 4 months to get to the 6-month point (at which many people on AP start to feel they have destroyed enough of the infections and reached the point at which pain lessens and body heals) which is @ December - I would at least wait the one more month after seeing the surgeon in November and see the effects of the Mino first. My fifth month was the worst and discouraging but I held fast and like clockwork after the 6th month had two years of healing. And now hope to continue that. He's a start, and is very very kind in helping us over the phone. sally > > rheumatic O > > , it occurred to me while scrolling thru my files...that without insurance, it can be sooo very difficult to receive good medical care and then I remembered a group that was created for just that purpose. It is called the Patient Advocate Foundation...you can look them up online and they have access by phone as well... > > I hope you are going to be able to get the PFT and maybe even a Ct scan to see what is going on...you know your body better than anyone...I always listen to mine... > > I did see where another patient posted about seeing Dr. Sinnot in Iowa...he is veryyy good...I have never seen him but have consulted him via telephone a couple times...Now, and for the past 10 yrs or so I have just seen Dr. Whitman in NJ...I have seen Dr. Trentham in Boston and Dr. Franco in Riverside, CA...I made it my business to avail myself of the best physicians using the ABX therapy...but I had insurance at that time...even so...I did not do all the xrays that Dr. Franco's ofc wanted to do...I am leery of radiation...xrays, Ct's...I believe you have to be very careful...anyway...please think about contacting the Patient Advocate Foundation, I believe they are in Virginia or something...they can be veryyy useful...for patients...Hang in there, Debbie > >
