Guest guest
Thank you for the info, Debbie. I may qualify when (if) I am able to get Medicaid. I have tried contacting Dr. Sinnot this morning and he must be very busy. I'll keep trying. My breathing is better which encourages me to think allergies instead of BO. But I intend to get a PFT as soon as possible. I feel the same about xrays, CT and MRI. Thanks so much, Debbie. Best to you.. Guest guest
Hey , please keep trying DR. S office...I know he is busy...but he is a veryy good DR and well versed in these diseases...as is Dr. Whitman...I would go ahead and get in touch with the Patient Advocate Foundation..they may be able to help you with Medicaid as well...speed up the process...another thing I thought of...this helps me sooo much...I went ahead and bought, at a medical supply place a pulse oximeter...the little thingy that the DR puts on your finger to measure oxygen...when I feel sob, I can ck it myself and see if I really am...I do it a couple times a day...cost me, here in Cincinnati, about $125...which I realize is a lot of money...but knowing what my oxygen levels are baseline...help me tremendously...and yes, my allergies are horrific right now..I am spending as little as possible time outside...Keep us all posted. Guest guest
In my experience, Drs will only do tx even if you provide tests and labs, if they have seen the patient at least once in the past year...so they have always told me...all my DRs work with me out of town...but I have to see them at least once a year in order for them to prescribe for me, etc.. Guest guest
Hi, Sally. Thanks for the info. I am trying to reach him this morning. Hope you are doing OK. For anything topical that is red or inflamed I found that absolute best thing is Vitamin C. I use powdered " non-acidic Vitamin C powder - 5000 mg - crystalline calcium ascorbate " . I dissolve several teaspoons in 1 cup water and soak the area (typically for me a burn on my hand) but think it could help those with skin/sclero/dermatomyositis/ issues as well. I use it this way sparingly because it is expensive. But I soak the burn or inflamed area until the water and Vit C 'pull out' the heat. That is, soak, test the area...if still " hot " , then soak until cooled off. This cured a horrible burn to my hand once without even a blister the next day...really. And although you are treating a boil/blister it could help (unless it is already open). I also drink this mixed into a liquid to fight a pending cold...it makes the juice or whatever bitter but drinkable. I found this for my daughter when she had so many stomach issues and we cut out sugar from our diets. She could not even have fresh fruits due to the sugar content - except Granny apples. So this was how to get Vit C into her. She could not ahve anything acidic either...again this is non-acidic Vitamin C. And this is the only Vitamin C that I have found to be so. The brand is Solaray. Many of you supplement users will recognize the brand. It is getting hard to find this on natural food store shelves, but I do and know it can be ordered online. Hoping you are feeling better and able to get out again soon, Sally.
