Val I tried to follow the advice about raising cortisone levels in the day time

so one would sleep through the night. I increased the isocort I was taking from

two pills a day to four, two each in the morning and evening.

The results were I slept even poorer than I usually do, though I did have less

trouble falling back to sleep in the middle of the night, but..

Today I am so extremely depressed! So, this advice isn't for everyone.

I wish I could fall right back to sleep around four when I wake up. It usually

takes me three of four hours to fall back. I fall back just in time for the

neighbors to start making noise and their dogs to start barking so getting

enough sleep is a problem and I have had to up the amount of surmontil I take to

cope.

When I started Isocort i coudn't sleep either but after about 4-5 days taking 3

in the am then 2 ,4 hours later and 2, 4 hours later and 1 when I go to bed I

started sleeping much better. It takes a few days to help with sleep and I slept

worse too the first few days. But then it kicks in.

I don't get up until about 12 noon, so I took two then, and around 230 I took

two more. I do not take any right before bed time which is around ten or 11

o'clock because I know from experience I will lie there with my emotions buzzing

and not be able to sleep. It takes 11 to 13 hours a day for me to get enough

sleep because of all the breathing interruptions. So I have gone back to just

one in the morning ( my morning which is around 12) and 1 in the afternoon which

is around 2:30. I won't make the mistake of taking two again at a time, ever. I

learn quickly. Raising cortical in the day time did NOT lower it at night. It

stayed high so I could not sleep and the next day I could not stop gritting my

teeth and being depressed and extremely agitated all day.

LIz I NEVER tell any9one to take 2 inthe AM and 2 in the evening. You need a

RYTHM of highest in the monring and TAPERING through the day. Saw 7Am 4pellets,

11am 3 pellets, 2PM 2 pellets THAT might help you sleep IF it is enough, but I

sincerely dounbt 4 poellets of Isocort is going to FIX anyone's adrenal

proiblems, often een 8 does nto.

Liz,

I don't know if this helps, but I take 8 pellets a day (3 at waking,

2 in four hours, 2 in four more hours and finally 1 four afters after

that). I wake at 8am and my last dose is at 8pm. I find I am ready

to sleep by 10pm or so and I sleep much better. When I waited until

bedtime to take my last dose, I didn't sleep as well.

I am finally seeing my temps getting more normal and steady now that

I am taking 20mg a day.
