Guest guest
Hi Cashews are super high in calories. 1 cup of cashews is the same amount of calories as eating 8 baked potatoes with salsa on top!!! Not a good choice for a snack when there are much healthier options available. I was also told nuts are bad because they get stuck. I am not supposed to eat them at all. Guest guest
My DR told me to eat a handful of nuts whenever I eat a piece of fruit. She said it helps to " offset " the natural sugar (??) so that's what I do...! She says the best ones are pecans, walnuts and almonds, but that a few of any kind will be ok... but watch out for the FAT! > > Does anyone have nuts for a snack? Guest guest
I eat cashews and do well with them. I like them because i can chew them slowly. and they fill that salty snakc taste i need. I cannot do peanut butter at all. I figure the nuts are also good for fiber. I have always measure out my snacks in a little bowl so I don't overeat. Guest guest
I love nuts, but Kaiser Permanente So San Francisco has nuts on our " bad/unhealthy foods/foods that can block the anastomosis " list in the info book they give their patients. Every program is different! Anyone wondering if a certain food is okay should ask staff from their individual program and then make their decision on whether to eat it or not.
