Guest guest
Interesting...but did you actually have a period every month? I have not..just had the breast pain, tenderness for about 4 months and then recently, the back pain along with a muscous discharge, sorry everyone...eckk...not a bloody discharge...first clear then white...my Gyn on Monday cked, no infection, no yeast....its estrogen...sooo...she ordered the Ultra Sound.. I go get another today...should know more...as Dr. Whitman taught me, always, always get at least 2 opinions...My Dr yesterday is very experienced, about my age, so around 56 and has been in gyn for years...Since I usually overrule anything invasive, I am proceeding, but cautiously, and so far, minimally invasive...I did the 2 biopsies.. Will keep you all posted, thanks soooo much for the thoughts and prayers...Hugs, Debb rheumatic Update on todays US test > > > Hey all...saw a GYN today, she did an US and said that the endometrial lining is > veryyy thickened...which might not be a big deal, have had that happen > before...she took 2 biopsies..BUT she said that my ovary has something on it > that should not be there...AND she is treating it as cancer until proven > otherwise. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, In answer to your question at first my gyneocologist thought it was some sort of post menopause spotting as you say a bit eckk ... but it continued like clockwork every 30 days (my cycle was always 30 days) after testing my own specialist & others he had consulted with agreed it was in fact a period of sorts minus the egg! I guess I was lucky though because this particular gyneo is my own gyneo so knew my history first hand, the question is and always was why someone of my age (when it started 59)had started producing so much oestrogen & why I was having what was to all intents some sort of a period, there was even some thought it had something to do with AP .... the thickening was the major concern though & as you know until you go in & take a biopsy you don't know what it is -- I am not into having unneccesary surgery but as my gyn said 'you are past your used by date so you really don't need it anymore, best advice is have the hyster' I took 18 months to make the decision & I can tell you when I got the results post surgery I couldn't have been happier. Good luck though I know what a worry it is when you just don't know! Guest guest
HI Maz, the US today showed the same thickened lining that the one DR saw yesterday but my tech today was able to see the rt ovarie and it is fine..the left ovary has the cyst, follicle...and so far, no spotting at all....no period...just a muscousy discharge...clear...estrogen so they tell me...so the question is why is the left one making estrogen still....Joni, my friend, the today tech told me that in a woman my age, 56, you don't see a cyst or follicle...that usually can mean cancer...she thinks the lining, while thick, did not look like cancer...so I am hoping that comes back normal... The big question is since the left ovary is putting out hormone, estrogen...why? I can take meds to thin the lining...and then, Joni tells me, most of the time...once you have that period, thin that lining...the cyst, follicle should go away....if it doesnt, well, then yeah, not good..and clearly would have to go...I too avoid all surgeries...my SD began with a surgery...and we found out I have severe lung issues...under general, they had a difficult time getting me back...very difficult and warned me to avoid general anesthetic like the plague...I have had one surgeon tell me...saw him about a hernia...that he did not want to touch me with a 10 ft pole..no way...I have had the severe lung issue, the OB...and then now they are looking at PH..so no way, do I want to go under.... Will wait on the biopsies, labs..and then talk to the ONC/GYN...I would like to avoid surgery if at all possible... Thanks for you email Maz...always good to hear from everyone on the bb...lots of support here that is for sure...we are all so lucky to have found the rheumatic, BB site..Hugs, Deb rheumatic Update on todays US test > > > > > > Hey all...saw a GYN today, she did an US and said that the endometrial lining is > > veryyy thickened...which might not be a big deal, have had that happen > > before...she took 2 biopsies..BUT she said that my ovary has something on it > > that should not be there...AND she is treating it as cancer until proven > > otherwise.
