Guest guest
For leaky gut, my natural medicine guy 'prescribed' One tablespoon aloe vera GEL (not the liquid) Two Times per day on an empty stomach (20 minutes before a meal or else 1 hr 20 minutes after a meal). The naturopath said to allow at least 3 months on the Gel before I could expect any healing. Natural medicine is good but slow. He recommends Lily of the Desert brand of aloe vera gel. I get it at The Vitamin Shoppe (www.vitaminshoppe.com, or at a brick and mortar store) for $8.29 for 32 ounces. My Leaky Gut damage resulted from taking methotrexate (which I have ceased taking) and Ibuprofen for pain. Google " herbal treatment for Candida " . I know there is a product out there....just cannot remember the name. All the best, Diane ________________________________ From: paul king <pauleking11@...> rheumatic Sent: Sunday, July 5, 2009 5:05:05 PM Subject: rheumatic Leaky Gut & Candida Treatments Does anyone have great treatments for leaky gut and candida? It is used to enhance our immune system to help fight the disease.. If we are fighting a " cell wall deficient Mycoplasma bacteria " then it is important to have the infection under control before starting LDN. My Psoriatic Arthritis attack started in Dec, 2007 and I started 100mg twice daily Minocycline in June, 2008. I also used 50mg of Diclofenac daily. With my pain and symtoms under control, I started working on immune side of my disease by also adding LDN to my treatment on Feb 24, 2009. Since that time I have been reducing the amount of Minocycline I use to the point that I have been off it for 3 weeks and only use Diclofenac occasionally to treat a specific pain issue. I buy 50mg Naltrexone pills and dilute one 50mg pill in 50ml of water and take 4.5ml every night a 9pm. After some initial sleep disruption from LDN, I now sleep better than I had previously. I also take natural antibiotics herbs and digestive enzymes. vinnylid

Guest guest
The remedies Ethel recommends are very good, and the aloe vera too. I have heard to take the aloe vera on an empty stomach. You can get it in as aloe vera juice too. Take 1/2 cup on an empty stomach. I would also recommend taking a probiotic to re-establish gut flora. New Chapter Organics Probiotic was recommended to me by the folks at Fruitful Yield. They said that hospitals and doctors are recommending it. Besides 10 probiotic strains of good bacteria, it also contains okra, spinach and ginger to support bowel function. If you are taking antibiotics, be sure to take the probiotic at least 45 minutes away from the antibiotic because the antibiotic will likely kill the good bacteria. Good luck. Yes, it takes a while to heal the gut but your body's natural healing ability will also kick in and help too. Guest guest
Kathy, thanks for the reminder about the probiotics. I didn't mention it because anybody on this list taking any type of drug should be on probiotics as well. Guest guest
Hi Ethel How much olive leaf extract is in each capsule? I have liquid, not capsules. A teaspoon contains 22.0mg oleuropein which is apparently the active ingredient. Ros
