Concerning birth control pills:

When I went for my annual pap in Nov, I discussed MGB with my GYN, Dr.

Mohs in Raleigh. He told me that BCP are absorbed in the medial

small intestine, and would therefore not be a safe method of birth control

after surgery. I have been on the Depo Provera shot for 1 year now and Dr.

Mohs felt it would be good for me to continue with that after surgery as no

GI absorbtion is required.

Another comment....I have heard that this drug plays havoc on the mental well

being for some...I guess they mean " mood swings " . Since there MAY be a

problem with depression after surgery.......this may CONTRIBUTE to the

problem further. You can also still experience the side effects for quite a

time AFTEr the shot.
