Guest guest
Is avocado a good first food? I usually don't give my babies much if any solids until around 8mo, but this one (almost 5mo) *really* wants to eat! I gave him a tiny fingerful of smushed ripe avocado the other night and he gobbled it up and wanted more! I see where NT recommends cod liver oil beginning at 3mo and a daily egg yolk at about 4mo (cooked I assume). Can I mix the oil into the egg? Any other good easy first foods to recommend? Guest guest
The egg yolk is raw. Banannas are a poor choice as a first food. Very high glycemic index. The child will have a difficult enough time in this culture trying to not develop huge blood sugar swings and sugar/carb handling problems. A choice with more fat or even just a lower glycemic index would be much better as a choice. I don't honestly know if there are any indications as to not give a babe avocado, however on the face of it it would appear to be an outstanding choice. DMM > Is avocado a good first food?
